    About Easton Corbin:

“Easton Corbin has one of those rare, glorious voices that was made—just made—for singing country music.” –American Songwriter

With two No. 1 singles, multiple awards and nominations, plus performances on some of the biggest stages in the world, Mercury Nashville’s Easton Corbin has made a lasting impression on the country music landscape. He became the first country male artist in 17 years to have his first two consecutive singles reach No. 1 with his unapologetic traditional sound in the spirit of Alan Jackson and George Strait, but with a vocal twist that only Easton can deliver. A devotee of Alan, George and Keith Whitley, Easton is the genre’s biggest torchbearer for the neo-traditional movement. Easton’s third album About To Get Real features his current top 5 single “Baby Be My Love Song” which continues to climb the country airplay charts.

  • EASTON CORBIN PUT TOGETHER A BEAUTIFUL PUZZLE FOR HIS LATEST ALBUM, ABOUT TO GET REAL.

Easton Corbin worked on About to Get Real for a while and finished the project at some point last year. However, he and his producer Carson Chamberlain went back in to record a few more songs, which ended up making the record.

“We felt like so much time has passed, we should go out and beat the bushes, for, I guess you’d say for lack of better terms, and see if there were any other songs out there that were as good or better, because these writers are writing every day great songs, and we did. And we came across three songs called ‘Guys and Girls,’ ‘Diggin’ on You’ and ‘Yup.’ I feel like these three songs really complete this record. So, we took off three existing songs we had cut and replaced them with these three songs,” says Easton. “I feel like that when you have a body of work it’s almost like putting a puzzle together, especially sequencing and the body of work as a whole. And I feel like that all these songs together as a whole really complement each other.”

Easton’s album, About to Get Real, features his latest Top 5 single, “Baby Be My Love Song.”

Audio / Easton Corbin says he and his producer Carson Chamberlain really worked hard to put together his new album, About to Get Real.

  • EASTON CORBIN IS ‘ABOUT TO GET REAL.’

Easton Corbin is about to release his new album, About to Get Real, on Tuesday (June 30th), and he feels it’s a good balance between his traditional country roots and keeping it fresh.

“As an artist, you grow and within that growth process, you do your best to make it current and young, but also with that you stay true to your roots and you have to be real about that. For me, it’s keeping that traditional country element in my songs, but also keeping it fresh. It’s a balance, and I think we’ve done that well with this record.”

About to Get Real features Easton’s current single, “Baby Be My Love Song,” as well as three songs he had a hand in writing.

On release day, Easton will be making the media rounds, but will also be rounding the bases. He’s set to perform an acoustic set at the New York Mets game on Tuesday.

Audio / Easton Corbin says About to Get Real is a great title for his new album.

“I think that just sounded great as a title track to a record, because it’s about, as an artist, you grow and within that growth process, you do your best to make it current and young, but also with that you stay true to your roots and you have to be real about that. For me, it’s keeping that traditional country element in my songs, but also keeping it fresh. It’s a balance, and I think we’ve done that well with this record.”

  • EASTON CORBIN MEETS THE ‘LEBRON JAMES’ OF HORSE RACING.

    11205976_10152962479612404_9119950845990536065_n
Congratulations to American Pharoah, the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978 and only the twelfth Triple Crown winner in history. Not many folks get to be in the company of such greatness, but Easton Corbin was lucky enough to meet American Pharoah when he won The Preakness a few weeks back.

“I actually got to get a picture with the horse and meet the horse. I’ve got to tell you, it was pretty awesome,” says Easton. “The trainer was like, ‘Hey! Meet the LeBron James of horse racing.’ You felt like you were in the presence of something pretty great.”

Easton is currently making his way to the top of the country charts with his latest single, “Baby Be My Love Song,” which is from his forthcoming album, About to Get Real, due June 30th.

Audio / Easton Corbin talks about meeting the Triple Crown winner, American Pharoah.

    Download

Easton Corbin (American Pharoah) OC: …pretty great. :37
“American Pharoah – we played The Preakness up in Baltimore. It was funny, we got to go watch the race and everything and American Pharoah happened to win, which also won the Kentucky Derby [and] I guess also The Belmont Stakes, I guess that’s what it’s called. The last Triple Crown winner, I guess, was back in the ‘70s, pretty far back. But I actually got to get a picture with the horse and meet the horse. I’ve got to tell you, it was pretty awesome. The trainer was like, ‘Hey! Meet the LaBron James of horseracing.’ You felt like you were in the presence of something pretty great.”

  • CMA MUSIC FEST 2015: Darius, Dierks, Easton, Church, Paslay, Josh, Keith, Lady A, LBT, Luke, Scotty

It’s that time again! The CMA Music Festival begins this week in Nashville, and the stars are ready to come out to perform and check in with their fans!

Audio / Darius Rucker is making a couple of appearances during this year’s CMA Music Festival. On Monday (June 8th), he hosts his 6th annual Darius and Friends concert at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon and his golf tournament. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Darius is also set to perform at LP Field (home of the Tennessee Titans) on Sunday, June 14th where he will entertain the crowd with his list of hits.

    Download

Darius Rucker (CMA Music Fest) OC: …awesome. :48
“Music Fest is like nothing else. I say all the time that country music is the only genre that could have something like that. It’s truly amazing, when I come that weekend, people are everywhere and they want to be your best friend. It’s always cool and I love coming here. The thing that always gets me is the show. The fact that you can get that many superstars at one show all playing for free, for the same goal, to entertain those people that are in that stadium that come here for the whole week from all over the world. They come here for one week to see country music, and it’s amazing that those artists say on Friday and Saturday night, this is country music come on out. That’s awesome.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about the lengths that fans will go to show their appreciation.

    Download

Dierks (fans) OC: …commitment. [laughs] :22

“I know a lot of the early fans by name, because we played a lot of shows at a lot of small venues where we’d be around a lot after the shows. I’m not gonna say her name ‘cause I don’t know if she’d want me to or not, but she has like a dog print of Jake, my dog’s Jake, but she has this dog print on her shoulder with my name in the middle of the tattoo. So, tattoos are always, that’s a big deal when somebody gets your name tattooed on part of their body or something. It’s kind of a scary thing, because it’s kind of a lifelong commitment. [laughs]”

Audio / Easton Corbin says his fans are very important to him.

    Download

Easton Corbin (fans) OC: …being here. :24
“My fans mean a great deal to me, especially the fans that come out to the shows and the ones that make it to every show around their home or in that vicinity. And I even have people come here that I know every time, in this meet-and-greet lines or maybe at that fence over there by the fence where you’re getting off the red carpet, I try to always make it a point to recognize those fans, and just let them know how much that I care and I appreciate them being here.”

Audio / Eric Church, who’s performing at LP Field (home of the Tennessee Titans) on Sunday (June 14th), says CMA Music Festival is special and unique to country music.

    Download

Eric Church (CMA Music Fest) OC: …to see. :32

“Well, I think it’s what makes country music unique. Find me another format that happens in, it’s just not something that happens. I think it’s because country music is really the one format that the fans…the music is really about them. And we’re them; we’re not different than them. You got a lot of rock stars and a lot of the other guys where they’re their own person, they’re their own agenda…they’re not like the people that are listening to them. It’s different in country, we are. We come from there, we are that. I think it’s just a great thing for them to be able to come to our town and to get just this barrage of music.”

Audio / Eric Paslay recalls the first autograph he ever received.

    Download

Eric Paslay (1st autograph) OC: …first autograph. :42
“The first autograph that I ever got was in Branson, Missouri, and it was Shoji Tabuchi, and he’s a great fiddle player, and I always remember that, you know if you go to Branson, you know who he is. But I was a 9, 10 year old kid, and I always remember that. Every time I meet a kid, I don’t know if it’s their first concert. It could be their 100-thousandth, but whenever I sign an autograph for a kid, I really make sure it’s special and memorable, and with anybody, but especially with kids. I still have that Shoji Tabuchi autograph, you know? Because it meant that much to me. I didn’t know who he was until we saw him, but he tore the place down playing the “Orange Blossom Special.”

Audio / Josh Turner recalls one of the weirdest things he’s ever had to sign from one of his fans.

    Download

Josh Turner (weirdest thing he’s been asked to sign) OC: …Sharpie, though. :10
“A toothpick, an unused toothpick, let me throw that out there – an unused toothpick. It was quite challenging, actually, and it didn’t look anything like my autograph. It took a really small Sharpie, though.”

Audio / Keith Urban, who is performing Sunday night (June 14th) at LP Field (home of the Tennessee Titans), says he loves attending CMA Music Festival.

    Download

Keith Urban (CMA Music Fest) OC: …always love it. :25
“I love it! It’s like summer camp. I mean, it is! It’s just a chance to obviously see a lot of people I don’t normally see, I don’t know. It’s just palpable. Since Fan Fair, it’s just been that sort of week-plus of energy, the whole town just explodes, and what it is we love about this genre and the community aspect of it. I always love it.”

Audio / Lady Antebellum, who are scheduled to perform at LP Field on Friday (June 12th) in front of a sold-out crowd, talk about performing on the big stage during CMA Music Fest.

    Download

Lady Antebellum (Music Fest) 1 OC: …over the world. :14

“The electricity in LP Field every year for that, you can’t really beat it. It’s so much fun to be there, and to have a stadium full of the most die-hard country fans you could ever imagine, from all over the world.”

Audio / Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott talks about her early Fan Fair (now CMA Music Festival) memories.

    Download

Lady A (Fan Fair Memory – Hillary) OC: …extra special. :23
“I have been raised as being at the fairgrounds with no air conditioning and actually helping take photos of the fans with my mom. I would like stand and take everybody’s camera, so I was a part of it. And actually in high school, I volunteered at the City of Hope, the softball game, for a couple of years. So, I mean, born and raised in Nashville, this has been a part of my life, my whole life, so now to be a part of it as an artist is extra special.”

Audio / Little Big Town recall their first appearance at Fan Fair (aka CMA Music Festival). The group will be making several appearances, including their performance at LP Field on Saturday (June 13th).

    Download

Little Big Town (CMA Music Fest) OC: (Phillip) …the best, man. 1:43
KIMBERLY: “We played at the fairgrounds. I guess it was the last year at the fairgrounds. We had just gotten our record deal.” PHILLIP: “I remember we were just about to walk out on stage, and we had to play acoustic. I mean there was no backing band.” KIMBERLY: “We were at Mercury. They wanted us to play before Wynonna sang.” PHILLIP: “I remember, my hair was short and Wynonna walked by and tuffed my hair and was like, ‘Oh that’s cute…cute red hair boy.’ [laugh] I was like, ‘Oh great.’ Like little puppy dog, ‘You’re gonna be OK, kid.'” KIMBERLY: “We were nervous.” KAREN: “Oh my gosh, were so nervous. We were so green.” KIMBERLY: “We didn’t have many songs at that point. Maybe three songs, which is what we sang. It was all we knew at the time which is what we had worked up. Because literally we got our record deal in May, and that was June.” KAREN: “And they were like, ‘Why don’t you guys sing a couple songs?’ And, we’re like, ‘Good, because a couple is what we know.’ That was fun. And then moving form that to the stadium shows, to me that the most fun you can ever have…CMA Fest, Stadium shows. It is an energy unlike anything else. It was over the top and I could just come out of my skin at those moments. KIMBERLY: “Me too.” KAREN: “It’s like you just want to float.” PHILLIP: “And it’s like the best country crowd you could ever compile. Every country fan from all over the world wants to be there. That’s like the crux of country music awesomeness. I’m telling you it is the best fun.” KAREN: “It’s the best feeling out there.” KIMBERLY: “They let them line up and all come across the stage so you have all these people that are so giddy, crazy giddy, because they get to walk up close to the stage.” PHILLIP: “And they’re waving and their arms are about to fall off. They’re just so excited. It’s the best.”

Audio / Luke Bryan, who performs at Nashville’s LP Field on Friday (June 12th), explains the name of his fan club.

    Download

Luke Bryan (fan club name) OC: …words, you know. :13
“That’s the name of my fan club – the Nut House, because they’re nutty and my Daddy’s a peanut farmer. I figured I spent my whole life hauling around peanuts, I would name…just a play on words, you know.”

Audio / Scotty McCreery talks about his fans.

    Download

Scotty McCreery (fan support) OC: …back to us. :31
“My fans are incredible. I tell them that every night on stage, and a lot of artists say thanks to the fans and ‘you’re the reason I’m here,’ but for me, it’s literal because they voted me through (American Idol), they’ve been with me since then. They’ve helped make the album platinum, the album gold, come to my concerts. In a sense, I really owe all this to them. They’ve really kind of helped make me who I am. I enjoy the chance to go out there and make music for them. I enjoy going out there to sing a concert for them. The biggest thing for me is when I look out and see the fans and they’re smiling, having a good time. Dancing, singing the songs back to us.”

    image002

Nashville, TN – Mercury Nashville recording artist Easton Corbin revealed via Country Weekly his third studio album, About to Get Real, is set for release on June 30. Corbin fans heard the exciting About to Get Real album announcement first hand via Twitter’s new live video streaming app, Periscope, marking the first time a country artist has used the app for this purpose. Corbin teamed up with the same producer from his first two successful albums, Carson Chamberlain, for About to Get Real which will include 11 tracks overall. Final track listing to be released soon.

“When deciding on an album title, ‘About to Get Real’ just says it all for me,” shares Corbin. “When country fans listen to this album, I want them to take away that even though the music mixes the modern with the classic, it’s entirely real. Like the music of my heroes, it’s the real deal.”

In addition to the album news, Corbin’s brand new video for his Top 15 and climbing single “Baby Be My Love Song” premiered today on VEVO.

Corbin collaborated with director Shaun Silva for the “Baby Be My Love Song” music video which was shot at Pinewood Social, a hip social club near downtown Nashville. Canaan Smith (Super Bowl) OC: …It’s cool. :21
“Super Bowl’s all about pizza and commercials. You gotta sit down, you gotta drink your beer, get a little buzz. It’s pepperoni and banana peppers for me and my family. We sit down, we have a a good time, we have friends over. We have a nice TV, plenty of space. We have a good time. Usually, when it’s all said and done, we have a little dance party afterwards too. It’s cool.”

“Ever since I was five years old, I’ve loved football, and I love how physical it is. I love the chess match of the game. I love the speed of the game. I love college football, but for me watching pro football is better because the speed is so much more. For me, there’s two times a year, man — football season and waiting for football season.”

HILLARY: “Honestly, chips and salsa, salsa or cheese dip or something. That’s like what I always go for. I could eat that every meal. No joke.” DAVE: “Best tailgate food is a big ole burger soaked in Dale’s sauce. That’s all you need.” HILLARY: “Or bratwurst. I forgot that. Those are good.” CHARLES: “Cold beer! A couple of little finger foods, but without cold beer, it’s not football watching.”

LBT (football story) OC: …my lip. :40
“I was the quarterback to my powder puff team. I was running the ball and I came around the corner – this was in high school – and a foreign exchange student, I think her name was Inga (KIMBERLY: “Inga.”), and I didn’t want to fumble ‘cause my brother and my dad were there, and I come from this very athletic family, so I held onto the ball. I knew I was going to go down, so I let my head hit first and I bit all the way through, but I didn’t fumble and I had a hole in my face, though. The sad thing is that it was just flag football, but I left my flags on and cleats and everything, ‘cause it looked cool, and I had blood running all down my jersey. I went to the emergency room like that, and they sewed up my lip.”

Audio / Luke Bryan gives his pick for this year’s Big Game matchup between Seattle and New England. Luke Bryan (Super Bowl food) OC: …over again. :22 “Definitely Super Bowl is like the queso, the Frito Lay scoops with the Ro-tel situation. I guess it’s like, what’s the black-eyed pea stuff too? All of that, just stuff that you can sit there and have lots of sodium, and then just, it’s like Thanksgiving all over again.” Former UAB quarterback Sam Hunt talks about his thoughts on this year’s Super Bowl matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.

“My thoughts on the Super Bowl – I am, hmmmm, that’s a toughie. Patriots and Seattle – I’m completely neutral. I’m gonna sit back and enjoy the Super Bowl, kind of lean to the Patriots a little bit, ‘cause I’m East Coast. Seattle’s way out there, but I love Seattle, so don’t take it personally. Love ya!”

Sam Hunt (Super Bowl 2015) OC: …pick a team. :46
“I don’t have a die-hard team, but when it comes to playoff time, Super Bowl time, I definitely come in and get caught up in that whole world. I was pulling for (Green Bay Packers Quarterback) Aaron Rodgers, and especially after he hurt his leg, I thought it would be really cool for him overcome that. So close. He’s such a phenomenal quarterback. He did a really great job. But all of the quarterbacks at this point are gonna be at the top of their game, and it’s hard not to be a fan of any of them – anybody who’s that talented at that level at anything. I was pulling for Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay, but now that the Super Bowl’s here, I don’t know. I’m gonna have to kind of educate myself on the seasons that each one of them has had, see who I feel like deserves it most and pick a team.”
