• SCOTTY McCREERY’S ‘SEE YOU TONIGHT’ IS COUPLE’S PROPOSAL SONG.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — (Apr. 8, 2015) — Scotty McCreery’s music played Cupid for a couple on a Southwest flight, and now he’s hoping to meet them.

In a letter featured in the March 2015 issue of Southwest: The Magazine, Greg Freyer wrote “Dear Southwest, I planned to get engaged on a Southwest flight as my girlfriend flew home ‘alone’ after visiting me. I work odd hours, so the day my girlfriend was supposed to leave, I woke her up around 3:30 AM to say goodbye and ‘left for the airport.’ I instead drove to the Detroit airport and got on her flight. After takeoff, a flight attendant announced that a debit card with my girlfriend’s name on it had been found. When they handed it to her, ‘See You Tonight’ by Scotty McCreery started playing. I walked up from the back row, took the intercom and proposed!”

“I read this story while on a recent Southwest flight,” said McCreery. “It’s awesome that ‘See You Tonight’ is now their proposal song! That song was my first top 10 hit and I loved writing it with Ashley Gorley and Zach Crowell. It’s already brought me a lot of luck and great memories, and I hope it does the same for Greg and his fiancée.”

McCreery is hoping the happy couple will get in touch with him. “I’d love to give Greg and his fiancée tickets to a show and have them come backstage so we can meet and celebrate their engagement. I hope Greg hears that I’m looking for him and that he e-mails my team at info@ScottyMcCreery.com so we can connect.”

The Mercury Nashville / 19 / Interscope Records recording artist is currently writing songs and preparing to work on his upcoming third album. McCreery scored two consecutive Top 10 hits (“See You Tonight” and “Feelin’ It”) from his sophomore album See You Tonight, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. That album’s title song, co-written by the singer, was one of three singles from the “American Idol” champion that were certified Platinum by the RIAA in the same week (the other two being “The Trouble with Girls” and “I Love You This Big” from his Platinum-certified first album Clear as Day, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart). The ACM, CMT Music, ACA, and ICM Award winner will be performing at the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota on Apr. 9, the Devent Center in Norfolk, Nebraska on Apr. 10, Treasure Island Record and Casino on Welch, Minnesota on Apr. 11, and The Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois on Apr. 12. • SCOTTY McCREERY PERFORMS WITH R&B SUPERSTAR CHARLIE WILSON.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Feb. 20, 2015) – Mercury Nashville / 19 / Interscope recording artist Scotty McCreery was invited by R&B superstar Charlie Wilson to join him on stage last Wednesday night (Feb. 18) during the soul singer’s show at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. As the surprised crowd screamed with delight, McCreery sang a personalized chorus of Wilson’s hit “Charlie, Last Name Wilson”…although perhaps the song should be renamed “Scotty, Last Name McCreery” for that one performance.
McCreery has been a fan of Wilson’s since the young singer/songwriter was in 8th grade and heard the song “Charlie, Last Name Wilson” on the radio. The North Carolina-native took a group of family and friends to see the show and was surprised himself when Wilson sent word that he wanted McCreery to join him on stage. The two singers spent some time after the show getting to know each other.

“That was a night I’ll never forget,” said McCreery. “Charlie is an amazing performer and such a gentleman. I never expected to meet him, let alone be asked to join him on stage – that was a huge honor.”
In other McCreery news, the life-long sports fan will make a return appearance on Sports Illustrated’s live online show “SI Now” this Monday, Feb. 23 at 1:00 PM/ET (12:00 PM/CT) broadcast on SI.com.  He recently appeared on the show last week when “SI Now” was broadcasting live from Nashville.

  • SCOTTY McCREERY SCORES PRE-SUPER BOWL GIG AND TICKETS.

Scotty McCreery is a lifelong New England Patriots fan and will be rooting for them in Sunday’s Super Bowl. He comes by it honest, since his father Mike grew up in Maine and raised the young singer to love all New England sports teams.

Scotty scored a sweet gig performing for Kraft and the Patriots’ management team at their pre-Super Bowl event Thursday night near Phoenix. All of the fun began a couple of weeks ago when Scotty’s uncle scored two AFC playoff tickets in Foxboro. He and his Dad went and were invited to visit the field while the team was in the middle of pre-game warm-ups.

Scotty doesn’t want to leave the Seattle Seahawks out – he’s a fan and friend of Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson, a former North Carolina State student and has personally wished the QB good luck in the big game.

Scotty is planning on attending Sunday’s game, even though he flew to Nashville for his scheduled Grand Ole Opry appearance on Friday (January 30th).

  • SCOTTY McCREERY RELEASES A STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF HIS GRANDFATHER.

Scotty McCreery‘s paternal grandfather, William James McCreery, passed away over the weekend. Below find a statement from Scotty on his passing.

“I am sad to share my Granddad, Bill McCreery, passed away unexpectedly last Sunday. He had celebrated his 86th birthday just two days earlier. My Granddad was a hard worker who spent 20 years in the US Air Force Strategic Air Command and 10 more years working for the US Civil Service at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. He lived life to the fullest, was good-natured and had a hearty laugh. He was totally devoted to my Grandmother Paquita for 57 years. Together, they raised three children and were inspirations for their six grandchildren. He was one amazing guy who drove a black mustang convertible and could still dive off his diving board in his backyard pool.  As his only grandson, it will be an honor to carry on the family name. Thank you Granddad, for everything, but especially the lessons on love and respect, the golf and diving lessons AND that McCreery deep voice.”

  • SCOTTY McCREERY HELPS RAISE $60,000 FOR 12.14 FOUNDATION. (PRESS RELEASE)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Dec. 5, 2014) – Mercury Nashville / 19 / Interscope Records artist Scotty McCreery performed a fundraising concert at the Toyota Oakdale in Wallingford, CT last night that raised $60,000 for the 12.14 Foundation.  Their mission is to develop programs that help children gain confidence, inspiration and skills to rise above and ultimately go beyond even the most horrific events.  The programs will be an innovative combination of exploration of the arts, and a coherent, evidence based personal development strategy.  The organization’s long-term goal is to build a special center to house these multi-disciplinary educational programs, including a performing arts center, which will be based in Newtown, but its doors will be open to benefit people nationwide. The center will honor those lost on December 14, 2012, while providing a venue that supports many forms of healing and forward-looking positive change.

McCreery serves as a National Goodwill Ambassador for the 12.14 Foundation and was excited to bring his “See You Tonight Tour” (featuring special guest Danielle Bradbery) to the area and help them move closer to their dream. “Music has always been a positive force in my life, whether as a fan or now as an entertainer,” said the singer/songwriter. “It feels great to bring people together with my music and help such a worthwhile cause as the 12.14 Foundation.”

“Scotty’s benefit concert last night was nothing short of incredible,” said Michael Baroody, MD, Founder of the 12.14 Foundation. “He showed his strong support of the 12.14 Foundation, love for his country and honored the sacrifices of our troops. Even at such a young age, he serves as an example for all of us. In addition to his obvious musical talents, Scotty is genuine, kind and has unshakable conviction. His generosity from last night helps further our efforts to utilize the performing arts in helping children understand their strengths, passions and capabilities preparing them with tools for tomorrow.”

McCreery is currently rising up the charts with his hit single “Feelin’ It” from his sophomore album See You Tonight, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. That album’s title song, a top 10 hit co-written by the singer, was one of three singles from the “American Idol” champion that were recently certified Platinum by the RIAA in the same week (the other two being “The Trouble with Girls” and “I Love You This Big” from his Platinum-certified first album Clear as Day, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart). The ACM, CMT Music, ACA, and ICM Award winner, who was recently ranked No. 2 on Country Weekly’s “2014 Country’s Sexiest Men Poll,” will be a presenter on the upcoming inaugural “American Country Countdown Awards” broadcast airing live from Nashville on Dec. 15 on the FOX Television Network.
