• TYLER HUBBARD READIES NEW MUSIC FOR SOLO PROJECT.

    EMI Records Nashville recording artist Tyler Hubbard has been working on his solo project for over a year to much speculation and anticipation. After sharing previews of new music on his socials earlier this week, Hubbard revealed today the lead single “5 Foot 9” comes out May 20 and impacts country radio May 23. Pre-Save “5 Foot 9” HERE.

    Hubbard wrote “5 Foot 9” with Jaren Johnston and Chase McGill, and co-produced the track with Jordan Schmidt. As he works towards his first solo album release, Hubbard shares, “Songwriting is central to everything I do as an artist. It has allowed me to connect with fans for many years, and I’m excited for everyone to hear new music for a new chapter in my career.”

    For the past decade, country fans have gotten to know Tyler Hubbard as the lead singer of the multi-platinum-selling, record-breaking duo Florida Georgia Line.   • NEWS AND NOTES: Darius Rucker, Kip Moore, Scotty McCreery, Billy Currington, Sam Hunt and more

    Darius Rucker’s Southern Style holds onto the top spot on the country album chart. Coming in at second place is Sam Hunt’s Montevallo, followed by the Now! That’s What I Call ACM Awards at No. 3. Rounding out the Top 5 are Luke Bryan’s Crash My Party, followed by Florida Georgia Line’s Anything Goes.

    CMT Hot 20 featuring Kip Moore‘s Behind-the-Scenes footage at the “I’m To Blame” video shoot will air this Saturday at 9am ET.

    Scotty McCreery will appear on CMT Hot 20 Countdown o both May 2nd and 3rd (9am ET). He talked about going back into the studio to begin recording new music and the proposal on Southwest Airlines that took place while “See You Tonight” was playing on the plane’s sound system.

    Billy Currington is among the artists announced to perform at the opening of the Florida Tracks and Trails theme park in Punta Gorda during the Country Life Music Festival, April 24th – 26th.

    Sam Hunt is set to headline the first Country Night Lights Festival in Athens, Ohio September 26th.

    Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley and Billy Currington are among a handful of headliners for the 2015 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo this year. Eric will kick the event off March 3rd, while Alan takes to the stage March 7th, Billy on March 14th, followed by Dierks March 16th. Luke will close out the event March 22nd. Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Hunter Hayes, Florida Georgia Line, Brad Paisley, The Band Perry and Tim McGraw will also headline.

    Kip Moore and Sam Hunt are among the semi-finalists for this year’s ACM New Artist of the Year Award, alongside Brett Eldredge, Tyler Farr,  Thomas Rhett, Chase Rice, Cole Swindell, and Dan + Shay. Fan voting starts January 27th and runs through February 10th at VoteACM.com and VoteACM.CMT.com. The 50th Annual ACM Awards will broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington (Dallas), Texas April 19th at 8pm ET on CBS.

    Keith Urban and Kacey Musgraves are scheduled to perform during the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival running April 24th through May 3rd. Elton John, Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga,  Jimmy Buffett and Ed Sheeran will also perform during the event.

    Eric Church, who’s up for four Grammys, including Best Country Album for The Outsiders, is among the first performers announced for the Grammy telecast in February. Madonna, AC/DC, Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran will also perform. The Grammys will be handed out live February 8th at 8pm ET on CBS.

    A few country Grammy nominees are included on the new 2015 Grammy Nominees album, including “Raise ‘Em Up” with Keith Urban featuring Eric Church and Little Big Town’s “Day Drinking,” among others.
