Classic country, timeless rock and roll and a blue collar background are the primary elements that make up the music of Brothers Osborne’s debut album, Pawn Shop. The collection, produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Cage the Elephant and Zac Brown Band), features 11 songs written by brothers John and TJ Osborne, including their Top 3 single, “Stay a Little Longer.”
“Every song is held together by John and I and what we do, but we want it to be kind of these different scenes in every track,” says TJ. “We went through a lot, a lot of material and listened to it over and over and over…I think every artist struggles with [picking songs for an album]. If you think of all of your life’s work being summed up in 11 songs, that’s really, really challenging.”

“We really focused on having this album be, every song is held together by John and I and what we do, but we want it to be kind of these different scenes in every track. So, that’s really, really difficult to whittle that down. I don’t know. We went through a lot, a lot of material and listened to it over and over and over. Some of the songs when you’re listening to ‘em, you’re not sure how they’re gonna turn out when you finally record them. I mean, it’s pretty often a lot of times the song that you think is gonna be the best song, the easiest song to record ends up being the hardest one and sometimes doesn’t turn out that great. Then there’s these little diamonds-in-the-rough that’s usually the last song you just threw on the session just ‘cause you had the time, and it’s just suddenly that’s the one, you know? I don’t know why that is, but I think that’s really challenging. I think every artist struggles with [picking songs for an album]. If you think of all of your life’s work being summed up in 11 songs, that’s really, really challenging.”
