Dierks Bentley premieres the video for his latest single, “Different for Girls,” his duet with Elle King on NBC’S Today Show and Access Hollywood on Wednesday (July 20th). Additionally, Today host Dylan Dreyer sits down with the collaborators on the Brooklyn, New York set as they share a behind-the-scenes look with fans at the making of the video (7/20 at 9:00A ET/CT on NBC). “Different For Girls” enters the Top 20 this week.
“I like how the song creates some dialogue about the different ways guys and girls deal with heartbreak,” said Bentley. “The video shows both sides of the stereotype and in the end, the ‘girl’ is the one who works through it and is able to move on. Wes and I have made a lot of videos together, and he always nails it.”
Hailed as a stand out track by critics ranging from Rolling Stone to PEOPLE to StereoGum, the thought provoking new video was directed by Wes Edwards and follows two people as they navigate the seemingly insurmountable task of getting over a broken heart.
“The same character who handles a breakup with a mind-numbing bender in ‘Beach’ reaches a new level of maturity in ‘Different for Girls,’ recognizing that women typically take a more sensible approach to emotional healing” – Billboard
