JOSH TURNER GOES BACK TO SCHOOL. (PRESS RELEASE)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Thursday, November 13, 2014) – MCA Nashville recording artist and Belmont University alumnus Josh Turner returned yesterday to the Nashville institution as a special guest for student chapel. Turner shared numerous stories with the students and faculty, including the inspiration for one of his most well-known hits, “Long Black Train,” which took place only steps away from the packed 1,000-seat Massey Performing Arts Center.

Turner expressed, “It’s great to back.  Although I was only able to attend Belmont for three years, if I had it to do all over again, I’d come back to Belmont.”

As a student at Belmont in 1999, Turner conceptualized and wrote “Long Black Train.” It was only fitting he close chapel with an acoustic performance of the hit song that helped launch his impressive career. Turner’s latest single “Lay Low” is on country radio now.
