Carrie Underwood’s latest song, “Love Wins,” is nearing the Top 30 on the country charts, and it is a song that the superstar hopes may help to start a conversation between people.
“I feel like it maybe there’s a song on the radio or somebody says something, and you have a conversation with somebody that maybe you’re like today I’m going to try seeing things from a different point of view, then you’re one step closer, even if it’s just a little step. We’re just one step closer to each other,” says Carrie. “So, I love the fact that I feel like this song is kind of saying no matter who you are, what you feel, what you think – we didn’t want it to be political. We didn’t want it to be polarizing. We wanted it just to acknowledge that we’re in a broken world. We’re all human beings. We all deserve love. We all deserve respect and we all should try to show that to one another.”
Carrie is getting ready to co-host this year’s CMA Awards, where she’s nominated for a pair of awards – Female Vocalist and Music Video of the Year for “Cry Pretty.”
The 52nd Annual CMA Awards, which will broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena November 14th at 8pm ET/PT on ABC.

“One of the things that I was very careful about when we were writing the song, I’m like I don’t want to make it sound too easy because it sounds so easy. ‘Let’s just all love each other and get along. Oh okay, I never thought of that. Let’s try that.’ I feel like it maybe there’s a song on the radio or somebody says something, and you have a conversation with somebody that maybe you’re like today I’m going to try seeing things from a different point of view, then you’re one step closer, even if it’s just a little step.
