Newcomer Sam Hunt has had a full-circle week at this year’s CMA Music Festival. He’s made a couple of appearances, including a midnight show Thursday night (June 5th) at the Silver Dollar Saloon. It seems the event he attended a few years ago while he was still in college, helped him seal the deal to make the move to Nashville full-time.
“I did the full experience,” says Sam. “I went and saw all the shows and went down and saw where all the artists were meeting everybody and just really soaked it all in, and that was probably the most inspiring week for me pre-moving to Nashville. And that just really sealed the deal on moving here and trying to get involved in all this.”
Sam has started to hit the airwaves with his debut single, “Leave the Night On.”

“It’s sort of that full-circle week for me, because when I first came to Nashville and decided I wanted to move here, it was to participate as a fan during CMA Week, CMA Fest. So, I had the whole stadium passes and everything, and I came up from Georgia, it was my last year at college, and I did the full experience. I went and saw all the shows and went down and saw where all the artists were meeting everybody and just really soaked it all in, and that was probably the most inspiring week for me pre-moving to Nashville, and that just really sealed the deal on moving here and trying to get involved in all this.”
