KASSI ASHTON SHOWS A DIFFERENT SIDE TO HER ARTISTRY WITH “DATES IN PICKUP TRUCKS.”
Artist
Kassi Ashton

Kassi Ashton is definitely a renaissance woman, as she has a wide range of abilities and interests. Her parents made sure she had a very diverse childhood comprised of assorted interests and hobbies. At her mom’s it was beauty pageants, dance class six days a week , speech contest, theatre, etc., while at her Dad’s she grew up on a farm shooting muzzleloaders with her grandpa competitively her entire life. She also grew up on dirt bikes and literally strapped to the back of her father’s Harley.

Kassi’s artistry is also varied, evoking different feelings and different experiences. Her critically-acclaimed songs “Heavyweight,” “California, Missouri,” “Hopeless,” “Violins” and more join her debut radio single “Dates In Pickup Trucks,” which is climbing the country charts and says it’s a song that hopefully takes people on a happy, stress-free journey. “All the songs I previously put out all show a different side of who I am as an artist, and ‘Dates In Pickup Trucks’ is just another side,” says Kassi. “If I was in a mini-van with three screaming kids in the back talking about tiktok, my boss has pissed me off and I have to go home and make dinner, what do I want to hear? One, I want to hear something nostalgic. Everybody loves nostalgia. I want to be taken back, but also maybe live in it again, and I want something fresh enough, light enough that makes me forget about what’s holding me down and stressing me out and feel a little better.”

Kassi wrapped up a handful of dates with Caitlyn Smith recently, and you can catch her next at CMA Music Festival in Nashville in a few weeks.
