Carrie Underwood is closing in on the Top 10 on the country charts with her latest smash “Ghost Story.” The song creates a lot of sweeping imagery that is brought to life in the cinematic music video, which was the main goal she wanted for the three-and-a-half minute mini-movie.
“The music video, if you’re gonna usher in a new era, I want to do it big,” says Carrie. “That one I was like we can kind of go over the top, but that’s what we wanted. We wanted it to be beautiful and imaginative, because I feel like the song is, so a lot of really great imagery that’s written into the song and we just wanted to kind of bring that to life.”
In the clip, Carrie becomes somewhat of an acrobat, but she says getting the shots on the trapeze was pretty tough. “It was a fun day shooting the video, but the trapeze was unexpectedly difficult. It doesn’t look difficult, but it’s really difficult.”
She took that one step further when she performed on this year’s CMT Music Awards.
Carrie is set to perform at the Grand Ole Opry on July 30th, and then she’ll prepare for The Denim & Rhinestones Tour, which will kick off October 15th in Greenville, South Carolina.
