JENNIFER NETTLE’S ‘THAT GIRL’ AS A MOM. (AUDIO)

It’s been just a little over a year since Jennifer Nettles became a mom with the arrival of son Magnus (in December 2012). So…with a year of experience under her belt…what’s Jennifer’s take on motherhood? “It is like the friggin’ Peace Corps, man – the toughest job you will ever love!” she says with a smile and a hearty laugh. “It is the most challenging…and it is the most rewarding. They go hand-in-hand, and it is both,” she explains. Jennifer’s biggest challenge? Keeping up her energy and getting enough sleep. But she wouldn’t change anything for the world. “I love it,” she says emphatically. “There is no part of your life that isn’t touched by it.”

Jennifer’s new album, That Girl, is spending a second week at the top of the country chart. Her new single from the project is called “Me Without You.”

“(Laughs) Having a baby is the hardest damn thing I have ever done, okay!? Let’s be honest! It is like the friggin’ Peace Corps, man – the toughest job you will ever love! I mean, it is the most challenging…and it is the most rewarding. They go hand-in-hand, and it is both. I love it. I was the tired-est that I’ve ever been. I thought, ‘Ah, I’ve been tired before! I’ve been on tour; you don’t sleep on the bus.’ But no, no, no, no. I had no idea. And…and suddenly, there is no part of your life that isn’t touched by it.”
