It was proclaimed Scotty McCreery Day in Garner, North Carolina on Tuesday (May 14th). Scotty – who took time off from his busy touring schedule to return home – marked the occasion by giving back to his hometown and his former school, Timber Drive Elementary. 

The 2011 American Idol winner presented flowers to his former music teacher, Beth Palmieri, and donated seven new Lenovo computers to her classroom. He also delivered cases of peanut butter to Amy White, founder and director of development of Community of Hope Ministries in Garner.

Scotty is currently making his way up the country charts with his latest single, “See You Tonight.”
