• DIERKS BENTLEY REVEALS THE FOURTH AND FINAL EPISODE OF HIS BLACK SHORT FILM SERIES.

Dierks Bentley delivers the fourth and final chapter of his BLACK short film series today exclusively on Rolling Stone Country. Set to the title-track of the upcoming record, out May 27th, the daylight unveils two lovers facing the consequences of their lustful affair. Fans can watch Episode 4 and purchase “Black” on iTunes now, along with the previously released “I’ll Be The Moon” (featuring Maren Morris), “What The Hell Did I Say” and “Pick Up.”

“The final episode of the series actually ends with some questions still to be answered, which is kind of what relationships do…it feels like they are always twisting and turning, and it is really all up for your own interpretation,” said Bentley. “The album was built around the song ‘Black’….it’s the first song in the album sequence and those three and a half minutes set the rest of the story in motion. It’s really bare and also one of the most intense songs I’ve ever written.”

Showing no signs of slowing down, the PLATINUM singer/songwriters has stormed country radio this week with “Somewhere On A Beach,” as it dominates the No. One spot on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts. The infectious track has also earned GOLD status by the RIAA ahead of the album’s release as the fastest rising single of his career, additionally spending its second week atop the Canadian radio charts.

Bentley recorded BLACK examining “the ups and downs of love, approaching it with the contrarian philosophy that so far, has defined his career” (Pittsburgh Post-Gazzette) as the “ambitious material” (USA Today) found on BLACK explores breakups, hookups, mess-ups and everything in between. Bentley launched his 40-city 2016 SOMEWHERE ON A BEACH TOUR with Randy Houser, Cam and Tucker Beathard last night (5/12) and will bring this summer’s show to Pittsburgh Friday (May 13th) and Camden, New Jersey Saturday (May 14th). • DIERKS BENTLEY HAS AN AFFINITY FOR TAILGATING AT SHOWS.

When fans go to see Dierks Bentley on his Somewhere on a Beach Tour this summer, they may want to be on the lookout for him in the parking lot. For his diehard fans, they know the superstar can often be seen tailgating and hanging out with them prior to a show.

“I have a jeep I carry on the road, which my friends all know this. We’ll take the jeep around to see who’s tailgating and hang out. There’s kind of a little bit of a science to it where you pull up somewhere, people freak out, you hang out, maybe sip on a beer or something and kind of take some pictures and then you see more people coming and you gotta kind of go before people start blocking the car and get to another spot and repeat the process.”

The Somewhere on a Beach Tour, which also features Randy Houser and Cam, kicks off Thursday (May 12th) at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Dierks is currently sitting at No. 1 on the country charts with “Somewhere on a Beach,” the first single from his upcoming album, Black, available May 27th.

  • DIERKS BENTLEY HITS THE TOP OF THE COUNTRY CHARTS WITH ‘SOMEWHERE ON A BEACH.’

Dierks Bentley’s “Somewhere on a Beach” climbed to the top of the country charts this week. The No. 1 song is the first release from his upcoming album, Black, which will be available beginning May 27th.

It’s always a difficult thing as an artist to pick the first single from a new record, and for Dierks, he felt “Somewhere on a Beach” would kick off the new project perfectly.

“Picking first singles is always one of the hardest things you do when it comes to a record,” says Dierks. “I just wanted to come to a song first that I felt like would just really get things going and something everyone can relate to and everyone can have a few drinks to and just something that’s going to be great for our tour this summer, so it kind of came down to this song, man. ‘Somewhere on a Beach’ just feels like the perfect first single for this project.”

He will celebrate Memorial Day (May 30th) with a concert on the beach, inspired by the lead single. The “Somewhere On A Beach Bash” will hit Panama City Beach, Florida’s famed hangout, Spinnaker Beach Bar.

The fun-loving song is still going strong and is picking up even more steam as Memorial Day draws closer.

The country superstar has been rehearsing for his 2016 Somewhere On A Beach Tour, which kicks off Thursday (May 12th) in Holmdel, New Jersey. He’s taking Randy Houser, Cam and Tucker Beathard on the road with him.

Clare Dunn (Mother’s Day) OC: …in the world. :41
“She is unrelenting in her love and her support, and even when we’re crazy kids and we screw up, it doesn’t matter. Her love knows no bounds. And her undying devotion to her kids – to my sister and I – always believing in us a million percent, always backing us up a million percent and helping us navigate life and navigate our dreams and helping us go towards that goal – those are some of the qualities that I hope to have some day as a mother, you know? And I’m so grateful I have THE best mom in the WORLD!”

Audio / Darius Rucker talks about not disappointing his beloved mother, who passed away a few years ago.

Darius Rucker (Mother’s Day) OC: …killed me. :17

“I think that’s the main reason I am how I am…an innate fear of disappointing my mom.  My mom’s not even alive, and I have a fear of her looking down from heaven and going, ‘Man I’m just disappointed in my son.’ She could have said anything in the world to me, but if she would have said, ‘Son, you just disappointed me,’ That would have killed me. It would have killed me.”

Audio / Darius Rucker recalls one of his favorite memories of his mother.

Darius Rucker (favorite memory of his mother) OC: …my Mom’s song. :34
“Oh goodness! A lot of great memories of her, but probably one of my favorite memories, I was a young kid, probably eight or nine, and she was in the kitchen cooking and listening to the gospel station and Shirley Caesar’s ‘No Charge’ came on and she was singing ‘No Charge.’ I just remember I ran into our living room which was adjoined to our kitchen and I just sat there and I just listened to her sing that song, and I remember thinking, ‘Wow! What an amazing voice.’ That’s just always a memory I’ve always had, and that song still to this day when I hear it just moves me because that was my mom’s song.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about Mother’s Day in regards to his wife, Cassidy.

    Dierks (Mother’s Day) OC: …for sure. :20
“When it’s your actual mom, you know, there’s some slack there, but when with your wife – any touring husband, anyone who tours who has kids and a wife back home, it’s tough man. It’s a lot of work. So, I definitely need to step up to think of something great to do this Sunday, for sure.”

Audio / Eric Church says he’s learned quite a bit from his mom.

    Download

    Eric Church (Mother’s Day) OC: …as a man. :57
“My mom, even though my dad won’t like this, my mom is by far the toughest person that I’ve met. She’s tough. One of those people that’s been through a lot in her life, adversity wise and never complains, always really resilient with anything that’s happened to her. And it’s just that attitude, the positive attitude, regardless of what has happened that I think is the one thing that I got from her. With career, she’s always been a person that’s been really positive through times that I couldn’t find a positive streak, [laughs] and she was always really positive, and very much believes in tough it out, keep working hard, and that’s her motto with stuff like that. I’ve always been impressed with that stuff. Then musically, she’s where I get my talent from, musically. She sings great, always has, her mom sang great. I owe my musical chops to her. And she still sings some. So, career-wise, I owe her everything. And just in life-wise she’s given me a lot of the qualities that it has taken for me to get me where I am. Not only as a musician, but as a man.”

Audio / Eric Paslay talks about his mother, Donna.

    Download

Eric Paslay (Mother’s Day) OC: …it’s good. :21
“I wanna thank my mom for giving me faith, laughter and pride in the family I came from. She’d be the fun Mom, just goofing off in the sprinklers outside or we’d go out and play in the rain and all that stuff growing up. She’s always good to be around; always happy, and it’s good.”

Audio / Jon Pardi says his mother, Shelly, is an angel.

    Download

Jon Pardi (Mother’s Day 2015) OC: …worrying about me. :29
“My mom’s always been there for me. First of all, she’s a great mom. She’s an angel. She takes care of people that aren’t even in the family. She’s always been like that, and she’s a great mother. She’s always proud, and she’s always there supporting and being a great mom. She’s just a good human being. There’s not one mean bone in her body. And she cries about every time I talk to her. She always worries about me. I have to tell her, ‘Stop worrying about me.’”

Audio / Kacey Musgraves comes from a very creative family, and here she talks about the women in her immediate family and their talents.

Kacey Musgraves (creative women) OC: …taking pictures. :16
“My mom’s an artist – all different kinds of mediums, paint, but she’s always working on something different. My Meemaw, she’s a soap maker. She makes soap and they’re beautiful and they smell really good and they’re all natural. My sister has an etsy store, and she’s constantly creating something, sewing pillows and taking pictures.”

Audio / With Mother’s Day on Sunday, Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley explains he and his brothers – Josh and John -- owe their mother a lot for all of their childhood antics.

    Download

Charles Kelley (Mother) OC: …playing music. :23
“We were honestly, at times, pretty hard to handle, both of us. We used to play our music loud up above on the second floor [of the house], bang on the drums and the guitar. And my mom’s just one of those people, she’ll do anything for her family and she sacrificed a lot for us boys. Anytime we needed something, she made it happen. And so, we owe her a lot. She’s definitely the reason we’re playing music.”

Audio / Lauren Alaina says she can count on her mom for just about everything.

    Download

Lauren Alaina (Mom) OC: …same for her. :19
“I honestly would not be able to do it without my mom. I get overwhelmed sometimes, and if she wasn’t there to comfort me or tell me, ‘Look just realize what you’ve got going for you,’ I’d be up the creek [without a paddle]. She’s got my back. My mom would walk through a fire pit for me, and I’d do the same for her.”

Audio / Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman says she always dreamed of being a mother…and her dream came true nearly nine years ago when she gave birth to daughter, Daisy (July 27, 2007).

    Download

LBT (Mother’s Day) OC: …for my mother. :34
“Being a mother is a life-long dream for me. When I was a kid, that’s what I wanted to be is a mama. It took a long time. I wasn’t ever sure that I would be, but I am now, and it’s the greatest gift of my life. And as I’m a mother now, I see what my mother gave up and her sacrifices and her love and how she made us the most important thing in her life, and that’s what I strive to do for my little girl. It’s the most important job I have, and it’s the most responsibility that I have, and I try to live up to a great example that I had for my mother.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY’S NEW RECORD WAS BORN FROM THE SONG ‘BLACK.

Dierks Bentley is just a month away from releasing his new album, Black, and he says it’s pretty much a relationship-based record.

“Whenever I’m moving forward into a new album, I’m definitely looking for a new sound, some new idea to kind of like start writing to wrapping the album around. So, it’s either a sonic thing or a lyrical thing or an idea,” says Dierks. “On the last record it really came from, I had some personal stuff going on in my life with people passing away and people being born. On this record, it really came from the song ‘Black,’ which is the album title. Just these milestones were passing me by, and I didn’t really get a chance to celebrate them or honor them. My wife and I had our 10 year anniversary, and it just kinda came and went, so I kind of started thinking about that and relationships in general and how crazy it is to be with someone for 10 years. And that really sparked the idea for the song ‘Black,’ and really from there that’s kind of the cornerstone of the record, that song, and that’s where the idea for this kind of relationship-based record came from and trying to do it in a way that’s a little bit different than just a love song, all love song-based album.”

The first single from the album, “Somewhere on a Beach,” is sitting inside the Top 3 on the country charts. Black is set for release May 27th.

Dierks is receiving a lot of praise and acclaim for Black…even his friend Keith Urban, who received an advanced copy of the album, had great things to say about Dierks’ new album, and so…he tweeted him: “…really proud of u brutha. ‘Different For Girls’ – THAT’S a song!!”

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about his new album Black being a relationship-based album.

“Whenever I’m moving forward into a new album, I’m definitely looking for a new sound, some new idea to kind of like start writing to wrapping the album around. So, it’s either a sonic thing or a lyrical thing or an idea. These last two records have really gone into that, on a pretty blank piece of paper – not sure what it’s gonna be or where it’s gonna come from. On the last record it really came from, I had some personal stuff going on in my life with people passing away and people being born. On this record, it really came from the song ‘Black,’ which is the album title. Just these milestones were passing me by and I didn’t really get a chance to celebrate them or honor them. I think ‘Black’ is the closest thing I have to a love song on the entire record. So, it’s a little bit more of a mysterious, a look at the mysterious elements and the growth through a long-term relationship.”
