Kacey Musgraves’ new single, “Biscuits,” actually came from the same writing session as her ACM-nominated Song of the Year, “Follow Your Arrow.” She wrote the song with pals Shane McAnally and Brandi Clark, and she says it’s one of the most fun she’s ever had writing a song.

“Biscuits – is one of the most fun songs that I’ve ever gotten to be a part of. It’s funny. It actually started when me and Shane [McAnally] and Brandi Clark were writing ‘Follow Your Arrow,’ and she threw it out as a line, I think. I think it was Brandi. She said, ‘How ‘bout ‘Mind Your Own Biscuits?’ And we were like, of course, slayed, because everything she says is ridiculously amazing,” says the Texas native. “We were like, ‘Okay, that has to be its own song. It has to have its own idea.’ So, we saved it and months later kind of came back to it, and really we just went for, we really went for just all-out country on this song.”

“Biscuits” is the first single from Kacey’s forthcoming album, due out later this year.

Kacey is nominated for ACM Female Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Follow Your Arrow.” The 50th Annual ACM Awards, hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, will be broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas at 8pm ET on CBS.

Kacey Musgraves is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Follow Your Arrow” at this year’s ACM Awards. She is one of a handful of country music females garnering acclaim and getting attention from fans, critics and industry insiders. Eric Church and Kacey Musgraves will perform at Willie Nelson’s annual 4th of July Picnic in Austin, Texas. Merle Haggard, Asleep at the Wheel and Jamey Johnson are also on the bill.

Kacey Musgraves will perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, taking place June 11th – 14th in Manchester, Tennessee. She made her Bonnaroo debut in 2013. Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons and Kendrick Lamar are also scheduled to perform.

A portion of Rihanna’s performance will air between that day’s semi-final games airing on TBS, TNT, TruTV, and via NCAA March Madness Live.
