Eric Church and Keith Urban will headline next year’s Tortuga Music Festival, along with Florida Georgia Line. The three-day event, taking place April 6 – 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will also feature performances by Brothers Osborne, Kip Moore, Tyminski, Snoop Dog, Lucie Silvas, The Cadillace Three, Lee Brice, Dan + Shay and many more. In addition to the headliners Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and Blake Shelton, Luke’s Crash My Playa event will also feature Maren Morris, Brett Young and Dustin Lynch. The annual festival will take place January 17th – 20th, 2018.

Keith Urban received the Champion Award at Tuesday night’s (November 7^th) BMI Country Awards. Maren Morris and the Nashville School of the Arts Choir performed Keith’s first No. 1, “But for the Grace of God,” using guitars he had donated to the school.

Keith was honored by the performing rights organization for his assistance in helping the next generation of songwriters and musicians, as well as furthering music education.

He just released a new song, “Female,” to country radio. The tune was written by Nicolle Galyon, Ross Copperman and Shane McAnally.

Keith Urban has the chance to take home several awards going into this year’s CMA Awards, including Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as Single and Music Video of the Year for “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” “Blue” is also nominated for Song of the Year, which would go to songwriters Clint Lagerberg, Hillary Lindsey and Steven Lee Olsen.

The first time he heard “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” Keith knew he wanted to record it. “I just know when I heard ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color’ for the first time, it just struck me as one of those rare songs that encompass so many things in it,” he says. “I couldn’t even label what it was, what style it was. It’s got a bit of soul, it’s got a bit of blues, it’s got a bit of country, it’s got just a big mix of all good things. Lyrically, it’s just an incredible song, incredible song. [It’s got] great melody, great lyric. I was so hopin’ I could do the song justice when we got in the studio.”

The video for “Blue Ain’t Your Color” was actually inspired by a performance he did with Carrie Underwood on American Idol.

“[The inspiration] really came from when I did American Idol with Carrie Underwood, and because it was the finale, I played in a suit, and this whole idea kind of started from the idea of playing in a suit. From there, obviously, the story of the song is pretty strong, and we started building the concept from there. But, the initial spark of inspiration was really about that.”

Keith is scheduled to perform during the 51st Annual CMA Awards, which will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 8th) at 8pm ET on ABC.

Keith Urban picked up the CMA Entertainer of the Year Award in 2005, and it’s a moment he will cherish the rest of his life.

“What I remember about the Entertainer of the Year category in 2005 was that first feeling when people say it’s just an honor to be nominated, and I thought, ‘I know what that means! I know what that feels like,’ because for me it was a huge honor to be nominated so soon into my recording career,” says Keith. “To be in that category, it just felt unbelievably quick for me. And then when they read my name out as the winner, I think I actually said, ‘I thought I was just rounding out the category,’ because [laughs] I thought you’ve got to have four or five people in the category. I truly did not expect that to happen. It was just such a magical night.”

Church is a rare two-time winner of the prestigious Album of the Year Award for CHIEF and Mr. Misunderstood. He’s been nominated 25 times since 2011, and is up for three awards this year, including Entertainer of the Year for the second time.

Lady A, featuring Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott, have won seven CMA Awards beginning with New Artist of the Year in 2008. The trio also has taken Single of the Year twice and Vocal Group of the Year three times. Lady A is up for two Awards this year, including Album of the Year for Heart Break.

GRAMMY-winner Keith Urban will headline Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Year’s Eve in Nashville (#NashvilleNYE) for a second year in a row, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp announced today. Urban will lead a diverse lineup that includes CMA New Artist of the Year Maren Morris, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Cheap Trick, 2017 country music breakout artist Carly Pearce, R&B artist Jonny P and the Fisk Jubilee Singers. The event at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park is free and open to the public.

The event will include the traditional Music Note Drop and accompanying fireworks display to ring in the New Year against the backdrop of the iconic State Capitol building and unique view of the Nashville skyline. Storme Warren and Kelly Sutton will serve as emcees.

Nashville is scheduled to be a featured location as part of CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.”
