  • CHRISTMAS 2016: Kip Moore

Kip Moore and his brothers would go on fishing trips with their dad around Christmas before the elder Moore passed away a few years ago, and it was always one of his favorite traditions. Another one of his favorite traditions was watching movies with his family on Christmas Eve.

“The night before Christmas, we would rent a bunch of movies,” says Kip. “My dad would take us to the store, the video store and we would rent a bunch of movies and we’d watch them all through the night. That was always a thing that we’d look forward to was all hanging out together and laugh until 3 or 4 or 5 in the morning, then waking up two hours later for the presents.”

The Georgia native is taking some time off from touring before he hits the road next spring.

Audio / Kip Moore talks about one of his favorite Christmas traditions as a child, and he hopes to carry on those traditions with his future family.

Kip Moore (Christmas) OC: …fishing trips. [laughs] 1:06
“Growing up, the night before Christmas, we would rent a bunch of movies. My dad would take us to the store, the video store and we would rent a bunch of movies and we’d watch them all through the night. That was always a thing that we’d look forward to was all hanging out together and laugh until 3 or 4 or 5 in the morning, then waking up two hours later for the presents. I hope that I can carry that out when I have a family – I’m still a little ways away from that. [laughs] But, I hope, there comes a time for that when I can, you know, I think all of the video stores will be gone by then, so I guess that’ll be a Netflix night, but hopefully I can do that kind of stuff. I really miss it bad going on the fishing trips. I grew up going on tons of fishing trips with my dad and brothers, and usually the holidays were a time to get to do that again, and I hope I can be half as awesome as my dad was with us, and knowing how much he worked taking the time to take us on those fishing trips. I hope I can get the chance to do that with, I might even include my future wife on the fishing trips.” [laughs heartily]

  • KIP MOORE PUTS THE WRAPS ON A GREAT 2016!

Kip Moore wrapped an accomplished year with a string of sold-out headlining dates this past weekend.  Playing to capacity crowds in Detroit, MI and a two-night run in Chicago, IL, Moore executed 20 sold-out shows during his ME & MY KIND TOUR, that showcased him as “one of country music’s most impressive headline acts” (Sounds Like Nashville), praised by critics and fans across the country. Moore held up his “reputation for rowdy, high-energy party shows” (Detroit Free Press) as he was continually “met with more deafening applause.” (CMT) Kip took Jon Pardi along for the ride.

Moore charged into 2016 on the 2nd leg of his fiercely successful WILD ONES TOUR that he also unleashed across the pond for a stint of “eagerly anticipated” (Think Country) headlining sold-out dates in the UK and Ireland.  An unabating road warrior, Moore “cemented that special bond between crowd and performer…daring to be different, daring to take a risk, he is able to take the crowd further than most artists can by the sheer force of his performance” (2 Country Radio) during his time overseas, where he had to move to bigger venues to meet overwhelming demand. Fans were also able to catch the “kinetic live performer” (Kansas City Star) out on Miranda Lambert’s KEEPER OF THE FLAME TOUR during the summer.

Throughout the year, Moore undertook a string of national TV appearances including The Talk, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and a dedicated episode as part of Front and Center, celebrating the CMA Songwriters Series aired on Public Television. Moore also recently performed as part of a Smokey Robinson Tribute, where Robinson received the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Moore executed a special rendition of “I Second That Emotion” during the taping, that also included Samuel L. Jackson, Aloe Blacc, JoJo, Corinne Bailey Rae, Cee Lo Green and more, set to air Feb. 10 at 9pm on PBS.

Moore also gave fans a personal look into his charitable initiative, “Comeback Kid Skatepark Project,” when CBS This Morning visited his Nashville skatepark available to watch here. Moore continued the project this year when he launched a new skatepark In Cincinnati, OH this summer, adding to phase one of the existing skateparks that include Nashville, TN; Boston, MA; San Marcos, TX and Annapolis, MD. A passion project of Moore’s, with the goal of finding an outlet to showcase his love for the alternative sports lifestyle, specifically skateboarding, and his desire to help inner city children. For more information and to make a donation visit here.

Moore recently released UNDERGROUND, a 5-track EP that draws inspiration from his unyielding time out on the road touring. He co-wrote every track on the EP and recorded many of them live. Critics have been quick to praise the collection, with Rolling Stone highlighting that the EP “strikes the defiant tone that’s been a part of his artistry” while Taste Of Country heralds “Moore’s vocals and lyrics shine.” UNDERGROUND follows the release of Moore’s critically acclaimed sophomore album WILD ONES that The Guardian declared as “an impressively singular release from Music Row… unlike anything else in country music” and Huffington Post declared as “one heck of an album… set to produce hit after hit after hit,” as well as his debut album UP ALL NIGHT which was certified GOLD by the RIAA and spawned three No. One hit singles including GOLD certified “Beer Money,” PLATINUM certified “Hey Pretty Girl,” and the DOUBLE PLATINUM breakout hit “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck.” For more information, visit kipmoore.net.

Brothers Osborne’s No. 1 hit, “Stay a Little Longer,” was recently certified platinum for more than one-million sales and streams.

Luke Bryan’s “Play It Again” was certified three times platinum for more than three-million sales and streams.

“Forever Country” will soon be released on vinyl. The A side of the record will contain the single, featuring 30 CMA-winning artists, while the B side will include the original versions of the  songs that make up the collaboration – John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” and Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love.” The vinyl record will be released December 16th, and you can pre-order it here.
George Strait’s 6th Annual Vaquereos Del Mar Golf Tournament and  Auction raised $1.1 million for wounded warriors earlier this month. • KIP MOORE RELEASES HIS UNDERGROUND EP TODAY.

    KM-300x250

Kip Moore‘s UNDERGROUND EP is available today here. Critics have been quick to praise the five-track collection that Moore felt inspired to release for his loyal fans, with Sounds Likes Nashville highlighting that the EP “continues to showcase Moore’s songwriting chops.”  Leading up to the release, fans were able to preview songs including “My Kind” that Rolling Stone heralds as “a sturdy, defiant track that features Moore proudly aligning himself with normal, rough-around-the-edges folks,” as well as “All Time Low,” “an arena-ready anthem, Moore’s vocals and lyrics shine alongside a heavy bass beat” (Taste Of Country.)

Multiple tracks on UNDERGROUND were recorded live, and fans can experience the new songs as Moore continues his headlining ME AND MY KIND TOUR throughout the fall, this weekend playing a sold-out show in St. Paul, MN (10/28) and continuing on to Madison, WI (10/29.)

UNDERGROUND follows the release of Moore’s critically acclaimed sophomore album WILD ONES that The Guardian declared as “an impressively singular release from Music Row… unlike anything else in country music,” as well as his debut album UP ALL NIGHT which was certified GOLD by the RIAA and spawned three No. One hit singles including GOLD certified “Beer Money,” PLATINUM certified “Hey Pretty Girl,” and the DOUBLE PLATINUM breakout hit “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck.” A constant road warrior, Moore’s headlining ME AND MY KIND TOUR follows a characteristically relentless touring schedule, that kicked off at the beginning of the year with a sold-out tour in the US and Canada, a stint in Australia for the first time and headlining shows in The UK and Ireland that, due to demand, led to bigger venues being scheduled as well as closing out the run with a sold-out date in London, UK. Moore recently wrapped his summer stint being “met with more deafening applause” (CMT) out on the road with Miranda Lambert. For more information and a full list of tour dates, visit kipmoore.net.

  • KIP MOORE ANNOUNCES ‘UNDERGROUND’ EP, AVAILABLE OCTOBER 28TH.

Kip Moore announced today that he will release UNDERGROUND, a 5-track EP that draws inspiration from his unyielding time out on the road touring, and a personal response to the demand felt from his steadfast fans for new music.  Available starting October 28th, Kip co-wrote every track on the EP and audiences across the country will be able to experience the new tracks live this fall on his ME AND MY KIND TOUR. Fans can pre-order the EP, on which multiple tracks were recorded live, starting today here.

UNDERGROUND opens with Moore’s signature unapologetic, but confessional attitude in “All Time Low” which bleeds into the uptempo, yet muscular “My Kind.” Listeners are offered a taste of what they’re missing if they haven’t made it out to a show, with live performances of the anthemic “Midnight Slow Dance” and the reflective, but defiant “Separate Ways.” The EP culminates in the infectiously longing track “My Baby’s Gone,” showcasing Moore in his unfiltered element.

“The problem I often face is leaving behind some songs, because I never stop writing,” said Moore. “I write so many that some never see the light of day.  I’ve been working on a full record, which looks to be coming out in late spring, but everywhere we go the fans keep asking for the recordings of these underground songs that they’ve been hearing for the last few years.  They’re a passionate fan base so I decided to ask my label if I could record these songs live and give them the raw recordings.  These songs are completely separate from the new record I’ve been making, I simply made this EP for the true fans.”

    UNDERGROUND EP Track List:

    1. All Time Low
(Kip Moore, Westin Davis, Luke Dick)2. My Kind

Kip Moore (Underground message to fans) OC: …so much. :31
“You guys have stuck with me through thick and thin, and a lot of you guys know that I have a new record coming out in the Spring, but I didn’t want you to wait that long, so we kind of recorded a live underground EP of five songs of a lot of the songs that you guys have known for a while, your underground favorites. It comes out October 28th, but you can preorder it today. I just want to do something special for y’all for always sticking with us and showing up to the shows and knowing all the songs. We appreciate y’all so much.”

Kip Moore (My Kind) OC: …about y’all. :24
“The studio track, ‘My Kind,’ I wrote this about you guys. I feel like our fan base is the blue collar fan base that knows what it’s like to work hard, 5, 6 days a week and spend their hard-earned money on what they like to do and coming to the shows. I feel like I’m one of you guys, we’re are one of you guys, and I wanted to write a song about us and how I feel about y’all.”
