  • LUKE BRYAN READY TO CHECK OUT ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ WHEN IT PREMIERES NEXT SUNDAY.

If you’ve seen any of the teasers and social posts for the ABC reboot of American Idol, you’ve certainly witnessed the chemistry between the panel of judges – Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Some of the moments we’ve seen so far include piano lessons, harmonizing on songs, dancing, high fives and even poking a little fun at the legendary Lionel.

Luke is looking forward to seeing how the chemistry plays out on TV when the series premieres Sunday (March 11th).

“I’m excited to see how our chemistry reads on TV and to watch our chemistry get better and better,” says the Georgia native. “I mean, even in the first auditions, we were learning each other as judges, and so to go from then to now, I’m excited to see how we’ve progressed and how me and Lionel and Katy interact with one another.”

The search for the next American Idol began in Portland, Oregon with the show traveling to over 20 cities. Check out all of the action during the two-hour premiere on Sunday (March 11th) at 8pm ET on ABC.

On Tuesday, March 6th, Luke will visit Good Morning AmericaLive! with Kelly & Ryan and Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he is also slated to perform. Additionally, Luke will make an appearance on The View on March 8th.

  • LUKE BRYAN PREPARES FOR LAUNCH OF AMERICAN IDOL RE-BOOT WITH SEVERAL TELEVISION APPEARANCES.

Four-time Entertainer of the Year, current 2018 ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee and American Idol judge Luke Bryan is preparing for the show’s March 11th premiere on ABC with several television appearances. On Tuesday, March 6th, Luke will visit Good Morning AmericaLive! with Kelly & Ryan and Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he is also slated to perform. Additionally, Luke will make an appearance on The View on March 8th.

Luke’s What Makes You Country album debuted #1 on both the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts last December. On Friday, March 9th, the album will be available for the first time on vinyl. The 16-track double vinyl will also feature an exclusive bonus song for fans, “I Can’t Even,” written by Michael Carter, Jon Nite and Jimmy Robbins. Get the album HERE.

Luke kicked off his “What Makes You Country Tour” in February and this month he will head to Australia to perform his first-ever shows down under. His touring year will conclude this fall after headlining concerts across North America including some of the biggest and best sports stadiums in Toronto, New York City, Cincinnati, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Boston, Minneapolis, Los Angeles (the first country concert to ever be held in Dodgers Stadium), Denver, St. Louis, Chicago, Vancouver and wrapping the tour in Detroit at Ford Field on October 26.

  • LUKE BRYAN WILL HAVE A LITTLE FREE TIME IN LAS VEGAS NEXT MONTH.

Luke Bryan and his pal Dierks Bentley won’t be returning as hosts for this year’s ACM Awards; instead Reba McEntire will be taking back the reins for a record 15th turn as host, a post she hasn’t held since 2012.

The new American Idol judge feels great about handing back the microphone, but he suddenly finds next month’s calendar a bit open, since he’s usually had a very strict regimen in the days leading up to and including the ACM Awards. So, he’s going to fill that time with some favorite activities.

“It’ll be a new experience for me,” says Luke. “I’ve kind of almost trained myself to handle the ACMs with a strict schedule and a lot of times I would go a couple of days where I wouldn’t get to see my wife or hang with any friends out there. So, to be going to the ACM’s and not hosting and to have more time on my hands, it’ll be interesting ‘cause I got so conditioned to being so busy out there. So, hey, I’m gonna enjoy some pool time. I’m gonna enjoy some gambling. I might go even see some sights while I’m in Las Vegas, and I might even get to smooch on my wife a little bit. It’s gonna be a great ACM season this year.”

Luke, who is zooming up the country charts with “Most People Are Good,” is nominated once again for Entertainer of the Year at next month’s ACM Awards.

The 53rd Annual ACM Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas April 15th at 8pm ET on CBS.

Luke will play the Houston Rodeo on March 8th, and is set to continue his What Makes You Country Tour March 9th in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Audio / Luke Bryan isn’t hosting the ACM Awards with his buddy Dierks Bentley this year, so he’s going to fill his free time with some activities he hasn’t been able to enjoy for a few years.

  • ACM AWARDS 2018: Reactions

Chris Stapleton leads the list of nominees with eight nods in five categories, including Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Single of the Year for “Broken Halos,” Song of the Year for “Whiskey and You” and Album of the Year for From a Room, Vol. 1. He’s won numerous awards over the past few years, and while he’s grateful for every single trophy he takes home, he has a special affinity for the Album categories.

“They are all significant and if you get one award for anything it’s a treat. But any of the awards that awarded the album, the album awards, because I really wanted to make an album that was good,” says Chris. “I wanted that to be a thing, again, more than I wanted it to be, ‘Well here’s the single and eight other songs.’ So, the album awards for me were important in that we did our job in a good way, you know. Just I have such an affinity for albums that I don’t know if I want those more or if they mean more, but they are all meaningful.”

Luke Bryan has won a handful of ACM Awards over his career, including the New Artist of the Year Award in 2010 following it up with two Entertainer Awards just a few years later. He tell us he is honored to be included in that category. “[I’m] so honored to have another Entertainer of the Year nomination and I always think about winning my first Entertainer of the Year [Award] at the ACMs,” he says. “To go to the ACMs knowing that you’re one of those lucky people that have that nomination, it just tells me that I’m doing all I can and doing the right things out on the road and hopefully, the fans are still loving what I’m trying to give to them every night.”

Keith Urban has quite the plethora of nods going into this year’s ACM Awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Female”  and twice, as both artist and producer in the Vocal Event of the Year category for “The Fighter” (featuring Carrie Underwood). Urban won Top New Male Vocalist of the Year in 2000, and Top Male Vocalist of the Year in 2004 and 2005.

Keith posted to his socials that he was “extremely grateful” for all of the recognition.”

Keith’s “Female” was nominated for Song of the Year. The Top 10 hit was written by Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally and Ross Copperman, and he said he just had a feel that he needed to record the song and let everyone hear it. “The song spoke to me. It just spoke to me,” said Keith. “As I was singing it, I thought I feel like I’ve known this song my whole life. Something else was going on with it how it felt to me. So, I love it. I believe in it. I didn’t record it for any other reason than it was a heart reaction that I had to it.”

In addition to Vocal Event of the Year for “The Fighter” with Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, is also nominated in the Female Vocalist of the Year category.

Brothers Osborne could possibly take home a pair of trophies next month. TJ and John are up for Vocal Duo of the Year and Video of the Year for “It Ain’t My Fault.”

Sam Hunt could also win two awards next month. He’s up for Single and Song of the Year for his HUGE hit “Body Like a Back Road.”

Dierks Bentley is nominated for Video of the Year for his steamy video, “Black,” which stars his wife Cassidy. The beautiful clip was shot in Iceland in nearly subzero temperatures.

Reigning Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town, earned their twelfth nomination in the category. This would be their fourth consecutive win and fifth overall. They are also nominated for Album of the Year for Breaker and Single Record of the Year for “Better Man.”

Lady Antebellum won their first ACM Award in 2008 with the Top New Vocal Duo or Group Award. Just two years later, they took home their first Vocal Group of the Year Award, followed by another and another, as well as Single, Song and Album Awards along the way. They’re once again nominated for Vocal Group, an honor they certainly don’t take for granted.

Last year Jon Pardi won the Top New Male Vocalist Award. This year, he’s up for Album of the Year for California Sunrise, which has yielded three No. 1 singles and a fourth hit.

Lauren Alaina, who’s making her way up the country charts with “Doin’ Fine,” is up for two awards, including Top New Female Vocalist and Vocal Event of the Year for “What Ifs” with pal Kane Brown.

Audio / Keith Urban says he just felt he needed to record the song “Female.”

Keith Urban (Female feeling) OC: …had to it. :42
“It’s a feeling. It’s more of a feeling. It’s not as cerebral for me, the song spoke to me. It just spoke to me. When I went down into the studio to put a vocal on it; my intention was to put a vocal on the demo. I called Ross Copperman and I said, ‘Can you send me the track that you recorded and leave the vocal off, and I’ll go down to my studio and I’ll sing over the top of it and I’ll see if this fits me because it feels really right.’ And I went down and I sang it, and as I was singing it, I thought I feel like I’ve known this song my whole life. Something else was going on with it how it felt to me. So, I love it. I believe in it.  I didn’t record it for any other reason than it was a heart reaction that I had to it.”

Audio / Little Big Town's Phillip Sweet talks about what went into making their ACM-nominated album, The Breaker.

    Download

LBT (The Breaker album) 2 OC: …intangible. :27
“We peeled through some layers of ourselves to get to this place in these songs. We couldn’t just throw a vocal on there. It’s like everything we did had to come from a deeper place this time, and we didn’t have the luxury of time to just kind of, ‘Well, I’ll just try it tomorrow.’ You had to get there. We had to find performances, and that’s what we did. We’re all about getting the performance, the true, that magic, that kind of like intangible.”

The next stops on the tour include Thursday (February 22nd) in State College, Pennsylvania, Saturday (February 23rd) in Atlantic City and Sunday (February 24th) in Charlottesville, Virginia.

  • VALENTINE’S DAY 2018 AUDIO

Wednesday is Valentine’s Day (February 14th), and we’ve got some thoughts and feelings more about love, romance and marriage from several of your favorite country artists. Some are new and some have become our favorites over the years. Which country stars are romantic? Which ones aren’t? Which ones have a good reason to celebrate the holiday that’s all about love?

Audio / Alan Jackson talks about his love for wife, Denise, over the years.

    Download

    AJ (Valentine’s Day) OC: …continue to. :24

“We got a lot of history together now, and we’re happier than we’ve ever been. So, she’s still beautiful, and she’s always inspired songs. I mean, one of my early hits was a song called ‘I’d Love You All Over Again,’ I wrote for her for our 10th anniversary. I mean, there’s been a zillion songs that have pieces of our good days and bad days inspired, and they continue to.”

Audio / Billy Currington recalls his first real Valentine’s Day.

    Download

Billy Currington (Valentine’s Day memory) OC: …took off running. :21
“Yeah, I remember my first girlfriend. I was in first or second grade, but anyway, I remember it was Valentine’s Day and your mom going, ‘You’ve got to give your girlfriend something, and you’ve got to go give it to her.’ I’ll never forget — we got her a box of chocolates or whatever it was. I remember going down to her classroom and knocking on the door, getting her to come to the door. I remember handing it to her, and then I took off running.”

Audio / Darius Rucker knew he would marry his wife, Beth, on their first date.

    Download

Darius Rucker (wife) OC: …her and country music saved my life. :43

“I don’t know what it was about her. I mean, it was EVERYTHING about her. I knew, I told her I was going to marry her on our first date, [laughs] yeah. Beth’s a strong woman. It takes a strong woman to be married to a musician, especially a musician who was drinking and partying as hard as I was, and I think life for us is where we are now. It took a long time for us to get to where we are now, and we say to each other all the time, ‘I love us. I love our family. I love us.’ And I thank her every day for staying with me and being the strong woman she is, because with Hootie & the Blowfish, I could be gone for three months and then I’d come home for two days and then I’d be gone again for a month, and she put up with all that crap. You know, her and country music saved my life.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley gives guys tips for a first date.

    Download

Dierks Bentley (first date tips for guys) OC: …first date. :19
“You know, just opening the door, it’s such a big deal. It’s just a nice thing to do. It’s a car door, unlocking the door for somebody to get in the car first and hold the door to get in, and I just think that’s just, if you’re doing that, then you’re obviously thinking about ways to be respectful, be considerate, be kind and be thoughtful and make for a good first date.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley says the most interesting gift he and his wife Cassidy have given each other were mixtapes of songs.

    Download

Dierks Bentley (Valentine’s Day-most interesting gift he’s given his wife) OC: …formulate yourself. 1:19
“When ‘What Was I Thinkin’’ was released in 2003, I didn’t know what my life would look like, and all of a sudden, I found myself out on the road full-time, just gone. So, the place where I was staying, I had some friends pack it up and move it into a storage facility. This year, I got that whole thing dumped back out into my house. I’m going through just years of old stuff, and in there I found some letters that she and I had written back and forth when we were dating. I was working at The Nashville Network and she was working out in San Francisco and found some letters I had written her and I’d gotten back and some stuff she’d sent me, including a CD of songs she’d been listening to, back when you made CD mixes and there’s like these three hearts on that CD. I just found that it was so meaningful for me those gifts you give each other before any money, before anything else was going on, just music, giving of mixtapes was so cool. She reminded me of a mixtape I sent her. I’d sent it to her via FedEx, because it was so important she get this as quickly as possible. This was sadly before, I guess we had internet back then, but you really couldn’t send songs over the internet. I think the most interesting thing I’ve given her and she’s given me was just mixtapes, because there’s nothing like music to put into words and the thoughts you have in your head that you can’t formulate yourself.”

Audio / Eric Church says his wife, Katherine, loves him in spite of everything.

    Download

Eric Church (Valentine’s) OC: …love song is. :18

“True love to me is when you love a person in spite of all their fallibilities, and for me, I have a lot of ‘em. I’m definitely at times hard to love, and that’s what’s great about Katherine and the way she loves me. She loves me in spite of those things and really for those things.”

Audio / Josh Turner says his wife would call him a romantic, but now that they have four children, it takes a bit of work to make time for each other.

    Download

Josh Turner (Romantic) OC: …long time to come. :26
“If you ask my wife Jennifer if I was a romantic, she would definitely say, ‘Yes,’ but she knows that sometimes my hectic schedule and our busy lifestyles can kind of interfere with the romantic side of things. But we do try to make efforts towards being together and having adult conversations and taking time away from the children and doing things that husbands and wives do, so we’ll definitely try to continue that for a long time to come.”

Audio / Lauren Alaina recalls her first, and potentially disastrous, Valentine’s Day with her longtime boyfriend, Alex.

    Download

Lauren Alaina (Valentine’s Day) OC: …pretty embarrassing. 1:37
“I think my first Valentine’s Day with Alex, I was trying to be super cute and cook him a Valentine’s Day dinner. I was 18 at the time, and I’d just moved into this brand new apartment in Chattanooga. I was trying to get used to not living with my parents before I moved to Nashville, so I did like six months in Chattanooga in an apartment. And [giggles] my mom makes these really great mashed potatoes, which I’ve modified the recipe, but they’re delicious and I wanted to make him these potatoes, because I knew I could make these potatoes. Well, I did not grow up with a very updated kitchen, so I didn’t have a [garbage] disposal, it was very new to me. So, I peeled the bag of potatoes and put the potato peels in to the sink and tried to use the disposal and it broke it before he got there. Annnd, I turned the water on, and I was baking chicken and I was cooking broccoli and mashed potatoes, and just turned the water on and then I forgot I had the water on, so I overflowed the kitchen sink with the potato peels, and it looked like something died in my sink and my sink was like spitting it up. It was horrible. I was panicking and trying to get it all cleaned up before he got there, and he knocked in the middle of it, like knocked on the door. He was early, of course. He’s always early, and he freaking knocked. I had like potato peels flying through the air, my potatoes were boiling over. I was still boiling the potatoes. I was running behind and he was running early, so it was just crazy. But, we’ve had some great Valentine’s.”

Audio / Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet was ready for love when he met Rebecca, his wife since 2007.

    Download

Little Big Town (Phillip – reasons fell in love) OC: …real love. :17

“I think everything that I had gone through before had prepared me to be ready to see that there was genuine love there for me, and my Rebecca.  So, it was just a great time, I wouldn’t have been ready before I met her…Now it’s just been a really great journey to heal through the past and to know real love.”

  • LUKE BRYAN’S ‘WHAT MAKES YOU COUNTRY’ WILL BE RELEASED ON VINYL WITH A BONUS TRACK.

Luke Bryan’s What Makes You Country will be released on vinyl on March 9th and will include a bonus track, “I Can’t Even.” The 16-track collection will be available as a double LP.

Luke says he wants his music to connect with fans, and hopefully come to one of his shows. “My hope for every album is to put songs out that drive people to want to come see the shows. • TBT TO LUKE BRYAN PERFORMING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM PRIOR TO LAST YEAR’S SUPER BOWL.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: At this time last year, Luke Bryan was in Houston prepping to perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl 51. Before he took the stage to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” he said he dreamed of that moment for years.

“The opportunity to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl is something that I can honestly say I’ve probably dreamed of ever since I was a kid. To wake up and things that you’ve dreamed of are right in front of you, it’s pretty powerful,” says Luke. “I’m just excited about the opportunity to go out there and honor America, honor our country, honor our troops, and I will certainly be excited to hit the last note and not be so nervous anymore and go enjoy a football game.”

Luke, who just announced 13 stadium and ballparks dates for his What Makes You Country Tour, is making his way up the country charts with “Most People Are Good.”

“I’m just gonna go out there and sing it. It’s not like I’ve got a band or an orchestra that’s on time and they play it the same way and I’m following them. I’m kinda gonna walk out there and follow my heart and follow the vibe of the room, and so there’s no telling how long it’ll go. I may get out there and go, ‘I’m about to pass out. I need to get this over quick.’ Or I may get out there and really, really feel good in the moment and try to milk it a little bit.”
