• CMT MUSIC AWARDS: Carrie Underwood, George Strait, Maddie & Tae, Parker McCollum Win Big; Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Mickey Guyton, Priscilla Block Turn In Great Performances

    Keith Urban opened Monday night’s (April 11th) CMT Music Awards with his inspirational, dream-big single, “Wild Hearts,” pumping up the crowd and the viewers at home for the show.

    Carrie Underwood, who performed a dreamy, acrobatic performance of “Ghost Story” from her residency Reflections at Resorts World in Las Vegas, won big at the show with Jason Aldean and their duet “If I Didn’t Love You.” They took home both Collaborative Video of the Year and the night’s top honor, Video of the Year.

    Parker McCollum, who sang his No. 1 “To Be Loved By You” on the Ram Stage, received his first-ever CMT Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year for the same song.

    George Strait won CMT Performance of the Year at for his version of “Is Anybody Going to San Antone” from CMT Giants: Charley Pride…and it was King George’s first-ever CMT Music Award. He wasn’t in attendance, but sent a video message to accept the award.

    Little Big Town performed twice during the show. The quartet delivered the debut performance of their new single, “Hell Yeah,” and also performed with Jimmie Allen and Monica on Jimmie’s song, “Pray.”

    Maddie Font gave a very emotional and heartfelt acceptance speech after she and Taylor Kerr picked up the award for CMT Group/Duo Video for “Woman You Got.” “I missed you. I missed you so much,” she told her duo partner, who appeared virtually at the awards show, holding her baby Leighton who was born nearly three months early. “I can’t do this without you. That’s my girl.”

  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD AND MICKEY GUYTON HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE LIST OF PERFORMERS AT THIS YEAR’S CMT MUSIC AWARDS.

    Carrie Underwood, plus Mickey Guyton with Black Pumas, have been added to the list of performers at this year’s CMT Music Awards, and the lineup will also include Old Dominion.

    Previously announced performers include Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris + Ryan Hurd, Carly Pearce, Cole Swindell + Lainey Wilson and The Judds.

    Priscilla Block and Parker McCollum, along with most of the other Breakthrough Artists of the Year nominees (BRELAND, Caitlyn Smith, Jessie James Decker, Elvie Shane) will perform from the Ram Trucks Side Stage.

    The 2022 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Ballerini and actor Anthony Mackie (Captain America) will air live from Nashville beginning at 8pm ET/delayed PT on Monday (April 11th) on CBS and streaming live and on demand on Parmount+.

    Kacey Musgraves will perform during the inaugural Palomino Festival at the Rose Bowl in Southern California July 9th. Willie Nelson, Jason Isbell, Turnpike Troubadours, Orville Peck, Morgan Wade and Old Crow Medicine Show will also perform. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 1st).

     

    Mickey Guyton is among the special guests at BRELAND’s upcoming benefit for Nashville’s Oasis Center taking place at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on April 12th. Kane Brown, Russell Dickerson and Charles Kelley are also part of the lineup.

    Taylor Swift is set to receive an honorary doctorate for Fine Arts from New York University, and she will speak at the college’s commencement taking place at Yankee Stadium May 18th.

    Caylee Hammack, who just wrapped up a tour with Darius Rucker, will head out on the road on Brad Paisley‘s World Tour 2022, along with Tracy Lawrence, Scotty McCreery and Tenille Townes. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 1st). The tour is set to kick off on May 27th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Guests will vary by market.

  • MICKEY GUYTON IS FEATURED IN NEW DOCUMENTARY, FOR LOVE & COUNTRY.

    Mickey Guyton is featured in a new documentary titled “For Love & Country,” which explores country music’s roots through the eyes of a new generation of Black artists drawn to the genre.

    Directed by Joshua Kissi, the Amazon Music Original film will feature performances and interviews from Mickey, as well as Jimmie Allen, Breland, Brittney Spencer, Shy Carter, Allison Russell, Frankie Staton, Amythyst Kiah, Willie Jones, Reyna Roberts, Blanco Brown and Valerie June.

  • MICKEY GUYTON WILL HAVE A “FULL CIRCLE MOMENT” WHEN SHE STEPS ONTO THE FIELD TO PERFORM THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AT SUNDAY’S SUPER BOWL.

    Mickey Guyton is experiencing a “full circle” moment as she gets ready to perform the National Anthem at Sunday’s Super Bowl.

    “When I got the call asking if I would sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, that was the last thing that I ever thought I would ever hear in my lifetime, and here I am getting to sing the National Anthem and getting to be on a list of great singers who have sang it,” she says. “This is such a full circle moment for me. I wanted to become a singer after I saw LeAnn Rimes sing the National Anthem at a Texas Rangers baseball game, and here I am as a grown woman that’s going to be standing on that field singing this song, and my intentions are togetherness.”

    The Texas native wants to bring people together with her performance, and she added, “There’s so much divisiveness, and I just hope that everybody sees themself in this performance. That is my goal; that is where my heart is coming from and I’m just so grateful, so blessed. ”

    Mickey’s full-circle moment is as a young girl and watching LeAnn Rimes sing the National Anthem at a Texas Rangers game, and she was so enthralled with the performance that she decided she wanted to be a singer. She went on to sing the National Anthem numerous times in high school that she was dubbed the “national anthem singer.” Fast-forward to years later, and she’s singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at one of the world’s biggest stages – the Super Bowl.

    With the release of her album Remember Her Name, Mickey made history as the first Black artist to earn a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. The title track “Remember Her Name” also landed Mickey with GRAMMY nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

    Luke Bryan will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America and Live With Kelly & Ryan, along with his fellow American Idol judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, on Tuesday (February 22nd). He will also appear on The View Wednesday (February 23rd) and Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday (February 24th).

    Mickey Guyton will guest host the Ellen DeGeneres Show March 3rd, and the musical guest will be Priscilla Block. Check local listings for channel and time.

    Chris Stapleton has added 25 dates to his “All-American Road Show Tour.” The trek includes newly added stops at L.A.’s The Forum, Detroit’s Comerica Park, DC’s Merriweather Post Pavilion, Long Island’s Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater, New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center and Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena among many others and is expected to run through October 27th. Tickets go on sale Friday (February 25th).

  • MICKEY GUYTON WILL PERFORM THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AT THIS YEAR’S SUPER BOWL!

    JUST ANNOUNCED: Multi-Grammy-nominated artist MICKEY GUYTON will sing the national anthem at Super Bowl LVI, taking place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sunday, February 13th. The Big Game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams will air live on NBC and Telemundo and stream live on Peacock.

     

    Mickey’s groundbreaking debut album Remember Her Name recently earned a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album of the Year, the first-ever for a Black artist, plus nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

    Luke Bryan will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America on Monday (February 7th).

    Taylor Swift, Brothers Osborne, Chris Stapleton and Mickey Guyton are among the artists featured in the new Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum’s new American Currents: State of the Music exhibit opening March 4th. The annual exhibit highlights notable music, artist achievements and events from the past year, and it will also include a video compilation of important country music moments from 2021, and recaps the year’s chart-topping country albums, singles and highest-grossing tours. The exhibit will run through February 2023.

    Taylor Swift is the subject of a course at New York University, which continues through March 9th.

    Darius Rucker was among the celebrities at this past weekend’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He was joined by fellow country artists Jake Owen, Clay Walker, Charles Kelley and Colt Ford, as well as a few famous faces including Don Cheadle, Bill Murray, Ray Romano, Alfonso Ribeiro, Andy Garcia and Chris O’Donnell.     Dierks Bentley will co-headline the NHL Stadium Series with pal Miranda Lambert when the Nashville Predators host the Tampa Bay Lightning in a couple of weeks. The Predators will take to the ice outdoors at Nissan Stadium (instead of Bridgestone Arena). The game will air on TNT February 26th beginning at 7:30pm ET/6:30pm CT.

    Parker McCollum is set to head out on the road on Thomas Rhett‘s Bring The Bar To You Tour, beginning June 17th in Gilford, New Hampshire and visit more than 30 cities throughout the U.S. Tickets for the trek, which also features newcomer Conner Smith, go on sale to the general public next Friday (January 28th) at 10am local time.

     

    Jordan Davis has released a couple of new versions of his hit “Buy Dirt” to fans. “I’m so excited to share my brand new solo versions of “Buy Dirt” with you,” writes Jordan. “The love y’all have shown this song over the past year is insane and I wanted to do something special to show how much I appreciate ya. This song is so personal to me and I’ve loved seeing what it means for y’all, too.”
