  • TRAVIS DENNING SET TO HEADLINE PRE-RACE CONCERT A THE BASS PRO SHOPS NIGHT RACE AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY.

    Travis Denning has been tapped to headline the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race pre-race concert August 17th. Known for sporting his signature Bass Pro hat for his performances, Travis will hit the stage prior to NASCAR driver introductions for America’s Night Race at the Bristol Motor Speedway.

    “I’ve always loved watching races at Bristol because it’s in your face, up close and as personal as it gets. It’s unreal to think that I’ll actually be playing at Bristol Motor Speedway,” said Denning.  “I’m ready to get on down to East Tennessee and help get the pre-race festivities started with all the fans at America’s Night Race.”

    Travis is currently climbing the country charts with his latest song, “After a Few.”

    Travis Denning released a summer-ready new track, “Tank Of Gas And A Radio Song” today, available HERE. Denning co-wrote the song with Nathan Spicer and Shane Minor, and delivers a driving guitar groove with a relatable sense of sentimentality for a past relationship, recalling memories of road trips taken together, with a gravelly vocal. Denning is continuing to share new music with fans as his current single, “After A Few,” climbs the country radio charts. The new single has been praised by Rolling Stone as “a showcase of his songwriting chops and the guitar licks he woodshedded at backroad bars in his native Georgia” and was spotlighted as one of their “10 Best Country And Americana Songs To Hear Now.”

    “This song has been one of my favorites since the day we wrote it, and easily one of my favorites to play live,” said Denning. “I love that the title seems like it would be your stereotypical party song, but I think the approach of the lyrics will surprise people. I hope a lot of people dig this song this summer.”

    A CMA KixStart Artist, Denning is gearing up for a stacked CMA Fest next week with multiple appearances scheduled. Fans will have the opportunity to catch Denning at Darius & Friends at The Ryman on 6/3, Grand Ole Opry on 6/4, CMA FEST’s Chevy Breakout Stage on 6/7, as part of CMA Close Up’s Q & A at Music City Center and a performance at Nissan Stadium on 6/8 as well as a performance as part of Spotify House at Ole Red on 6/9.

    A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, Travis Denning vividly remembers the moment he realized he wanted to pursue music for a living. He was seven years old sitting in his Dad’s truck and heard AC/DC for the first time. From then on, he was hooked and devoured all types of music from country, pop, rock and heavy metal. Denning started playing local bars at the age of 16 and built a solid following from his distinctive songs and raucous guitar licks. He moved to Nashville in 2014 and within a year signed a publishing deal with Jeremy Stover’s RED Creative Group. After securing outside cuts by Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Michael Ray and Chase Rice he caught the attention of Universal Music Group where he eventually signed a record deal in 2017. Denning just released his new single “After A Few” which he co-wrote with Kelly Archer and Justin Weaver following his Top 40 debut single “David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs”. Denning was recently selected as an Opry NextStage recipient and will receive unique opportunities to participate in events as well as connect with industry professionals.     “My dad has this really unnerving ability to be able to build anything at all just by thinking of it. He can look at something and build it in his mind and build it by hand, and it always works. I’ve always respected him for that. He’s a very hard worker.  He’s worked every day of his life. He’s also kind, even when he doesn’t have to be. He’s the type of guy who always gives money at the light to whoever it is on the street. One of my favorite moments with my dad was when we were driving to Macon, Georgia. I was playing a show that night, and we were driving up and we saw this dog and I could tell she was a mama dog. I could tell she had babies somewhere that she was trying to nurse, and she was so skinny. And I’m a bleeding heart. I get it from my Mama, and I just start crying, and I’m like, ‘That poor dog. She’s starving trying to feed her babies.’ I thought, ‘Poor dog.” And my dad doesn’t say anything, goes up two more blocks and pulls into the McDonalds. And he goes through and he asks me if I wanted anything, and I say no. I just think he’s hungry. He goes and he buys three or four burgers, and then he goes back to that block and he drives around until we find that dog to feed it to ‘em. I just remember looking at him, being like this is what a man is; this is what a good man does, and I’ll never forget that.”

    “[My Dad] loves the weather, so we gave him a weather machine one year, and that was…well, he’s a farmer so he has to watch the weather all the time. And we gave him this weather gadget-gizmo that sits on top of the horse barn and gives him his own read-out of the weather. ‘What’s the temp? What’s the pressure? What’s the humidity?’ Well, there is no humidity in Colorado, or Southeast, but I think that was probably the biggest gift. My mom, I think, she gets all the credit for that, but I think we all collectively did that for Father’s Day one year.”

I’m all fun until it’s not fun anymore and then daddy’s not the fun guy. I think that they’d say that I was a fun Dad, I’m a loving Dad and I think they would say that. I’m gone so much that when I’m home, I just shower love upon my kids. I say ‘I love you’ probably fifty times a day. We hug, we kiss all the time. I’m always wanting them to know how much I love them. So I’d hope they’d say that I was a loving dad.”

    “She had a lot great qualities, but she was always, family was first for her. She was always a rock and making sure she took care of us and making sure we had things we needed to have to survive – food and clothes and a home – and seeing that and seeing how hard she worked and all the things she did just really made me the father that I am today. I mean, I’m so crazy and hands-on with my kids. I think it all comes from watching my mom have to struggle so much to support us. And so now, I don’t want me or my wife to ever have to struggle, and I don’t want my kids to ever want or wonder where I am or where there mom is. I want them to always know where we are and always be taken care of, and that all comes from my mom.”

    “As far as talent and potential, my oldest three, especially, they could do anything they wanted to do if they put their mind to it and their heart was there. My oldest [Hampton] is incredible at playing mandolin. Colby, we kind of noticed him turn the corner lately with the fiddle, and Marion is actually playing a ukulele that’s tuned like the top four strings on a guitar, so in essence, he’s learning how to play guitar. They’ve just kind of started incorporating some singing into some playing, so they’re starting the whole singing and playing at the same time kind of thing, and not only that, they’re even learning to play songs together on their individual instruments. So, it’s amazing to see how much they can learn in such a short amount of time. It makes me realize how much I missed out on when I was that age, ‘cause I did take some music lessons growing up and everything, but I think they feed off of each other honestly. I think that’s why they’re getting so good is because they’re all doing it, not just one of ‘em.”

    Caylee Hammack will make her national television debut on Wednesday (May 29th) during the 10am (local time) hour of NBC’s Today Show. She will perform her song, “Family Tree.”

    Kacey Musgraves is among the recipients for the Academy of Country Music’s 13th Annual ACM Honors, which will be presented August 21st at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. She will receive the Jim Reeves International Award, in recognition of her efforts to spread country music around the globe by playing shows in Japan, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Other honorees include Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Rodney Crowell, Shane McAnally and many others. The film A Star is Born will received the Tex Ritter Award.


    Lauren Alaina     is set to play in Craig Campbell’s 7th Annual Celebrity Cornhole Challenge at the Nashville Omni during this year’s CMA Music Fest on June 4th. The benefit will raise funds and awareness for colorectal cancer. Jerrod Niemann, Jimmie Allen, Tyler Rich and Teagan Marie will also take part.

    Travis Denning, Kassi Ashton, Caylee Hammack will be among the artists performing on the DISH Presents Next From Nashville Stage during the ACM Festival of the Year, Faster Horses, taking place July 19th-21st in Brooklyn, Michigan. Previously announced performers include Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Zac Brown Band, Brothers Osborne, Kip Moore, LANCO, Maren Morris, Cassadee Pope, Michael Ray, Mitchell Tenpenny and Brett Young.

  • NEWS AND NOTES: Darius, Hootie & the Blowfish, Kacey, Keith, Shania, Travis

    Darius Rucker and his band Hootie & the Blowfish will perform on the season finale of NBC’s The Voice this week. The group is expected to sing “Let Her Cry,” which is featured on their multi-platinum album, Cracked Rear View, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Taylor Swift is also slated to perform during the show. The Voice will air on Tuesday (May 20th) beginning at 9pm ET on NBC.

    Kacey Musgraves will perform during the Today Show’s 2019 Citi Concert Series this summer. She’ll take the stage in Rockefeller Center July 19th. Other artists as part of the lineup include Sheryl Crow, Thomas Rhett, Jonas Brothers, The Chainsmokers, Dan + Shay, Maggie Rogers and Lizzo, among others. Additional performances will be announced throughout the season.

    Keith Urban, the reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year, has been announced as headliner for this year’s Stars for Second Harvest Show (produced by songwriter Craig Wiseman), taking place June 4th at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

    Shania Twain will appear in the new film, I Still Believe, the follow-up to 2018’s I Can Only Imagine. She’ll portray Terry Camp, the mother of Jeremy Camp, a real-life Christian music star who has scored numerous No. 1 songs and several awards. Shooting begins this month in Alabama, according to Variety, and is set to open March 2020.

    Travis Denning will be heading across the pond this fall on the CMA’s Introducing Nashville Tour. The trek, which also features Chris Lane, Danielle Bradbury, Rachel Wammack and Devin Dawson, will kick off October 10th in Oslo, Norway and will wrap October 20th in Brighton, England. Stops include Stockholm, Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Manchester and Glasgow.

  • TRAVIS DENNING RELEASES THE VIDEO FOR HIS LATEST SONG, “AFTER A FEW.”

    Travis Denning has released the official music video for his current single “After A Few,” watch HERE. Directed by Justin Clough, the mysterious video depicts scenes of Denning playing a heated game of poker in the back room of a smoky bar, while other shots illustrate his masterful guitar playing. The video parallels the song’s lyrics through the poker game by intensifying the stakes with the lead character’s relationship. The video was shot at Beer Sellar in Nashville, Tennessee.

     

     

    “This video was so much fun to make, mainly due to the fact it was my first time acting in a video. Whether I did a good job or not is debatable,” jokes Travis. “But Justin Clough nailed the idea and the storyline. I think the big gamble of the poker game along with chasing the innuendo with someone that you love for all the wrong reasons go hand in hand when it comes to the emotions.”

    2019 has been a busy year for Travis as he recently wrapped his first headlining “Heartbeat Of A Small Town” tour, and even performed at the famed C2C Festival in the UK as well as Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California. The singer/songwriter is set to perform at Nissan Stadium during the upcoming CMA Fest and it was just announced that he will return to Europe and the UK this October as part of CMA’s international touring series.

    A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, Denning vividly remembers the moment he realized he wanted to pursue music for a living. He was seven years old sitting in his Dad’s truck and heard AC/DC for the first time. From then on, he was hooked and devoured all types of music from country, pop, rock and heavy metal. Travis started playing local bars at the age of 16 and built a solid following from his distinctive songs and raucous guitar licks. He moved to Nashville in 2014 and within a year signed a publishing deal with Jeremy Stover’s RED Creative Group. After securing outside cuts by Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Michael Ray and Chase Rice he caught the attention of Universal Music Group where he eventually signed a record deal in 2017. Travis released his new single “After A Few” which he co-wrote with Kelly Archer and Justin Weaver following his Top 40 debut single “David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs”. Travis was selected as a CMA KixStart Artist Scholarship as well as Opry NextStage recipient and will receive unique opportunities to participate in events as well as connect with industry professionals.  When Travis is not touring, he is in the studio working on his debut album.

    “One thing I loved about the treatment for the After a Few music video is Justin Clough, who directed it, just had this great idea of the similarities between the relationship and taking a gamble on that and actually taking a gamble on a poker game. And so, we decided to kind of have this story line of me and this girl that I just couldn’t help but go back to and every drink was a gamble into falling back in her arms. And then this other side where I’m going up playing poker and getting more confident and winning money and then finally, everything comes to a T with going all in on this hand, and all of a sudden, I’m all in with her. I just thought it was so cool, and it was just great how the cinematic aspect completely mirrored one another. It was fun to act in it.”

    “Filming ‘After a Few’ was so much more different from ‘David Ashley Parker,’ because I actually acted in this music video, and it was cool. It was something I wanted to do, and I really enjoyed it. I think one thing people can really expect is having a look at a different side of me. Hint, hint, it’s a side of me without wearing a hat, which a lot of people don’t see, so I’m just excited for people to see that.”
