Shania Twain released her Still the One Live From Las Vegas collection, which it includes a DVD of the show, behind-the-scenes highlights and CD. She opens the show with her 2002 hit, “I’m Gonna Getcha Good!” The reason why she kicked off her Vegas show with it is pretty clear.
“‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good!’ was just a very empowering way to start the show and say I’m in control and this feels really good and I’m at the top of my game here, and I’m ready to kick off this night,” says Shania. “The vocal in the beginning is quite sultry and I wanted to – I didn’t want to come out kicking and screaming. I wanted to come out with a quieter strength with my voice.”
On Wednesday (March 4th), Shania will talk about her new CD and DVD collection on ABC’s Good Morning America, where she will make a big announcement. She’s also set to appear on The Chew on Wednesday, and on What What Happens Live! March 11th.

“I wanted it to have that sort of rock edge pump to it right at the top of the show and I wanted to be able to tell a story with a song list. So ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good!’ was just a very empowering way to start the show and say I’m in control and this feels really good and I’m at the top of my game here and I’m ready to kick off this night. So it was a very soothing song in that regard and it’s also quite sultry. The vocal in the beginning is quite sultry and I wanted to – I didn’t want to come out kicking and screaming. I wanted to come out with a quieter strength with my voice. So it was just the perfect song. ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good!’ was the way to start the show.”
