ALAN JACKSON SET FOR ‘PRECIOUS MEMORIES VOLUME II’ RELEASE ON TUESDAY. (AUDIO)

Alan Jackson will release Precious Memories, Volume II on Tuesday (March 26th), following up the hugely successful first volume from 2006. Originally, the Georgia native recorded the collection as a Christmas present for his mother, but he was encouraged by his friends and record label to release it to the public. The original Precious Memories has sold more than two-million copies.

“It’s just really overwhelming how many people have enjoyed this album. So, of course, ever since I made the first one, they’re like, ‘When [are] you going to make another one?,'” he laughs. “We had so many songs, of course, that we didn’t get to do on the first one , but…Denise sat down and helped me pick out some more this time, and…that’s where we’re at. We tried to just go in and do it just like the first one – just heartfelt and simple.”

Precious Memories, Volume II will hit stores next Tuesday.
