CARRIE UNDERWOOD HAPPY TO BE A PART OF THE BREAKTHROUGH MOVIE SOUNDTRACK.
Artist
Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood’s latest hit, “Love Wins,” is featured on the new soundtrack of the film, Breakthrough, which stars Chrissy Metz, Josh Lucas and Topher Grace. Carrie watched the movie while on the road promoting her new album, Cry Pretty, and immediately wanted to be a part of it.

“They sent us the movie to watch ‘cause I definitely wanted to get to see it before I could say yes, I want to be a part of that, and the second it was over, I said, ‘Yes. I want to be a part of this,’” she says. “It’s such an inspiring movie. I can’t wait for my son Isaiah to watch it. I can’t wait for my husband to watch it. I just think it something that everybody will be able to relate to in some way or another, and it’s such an inspiring film. I cried my way through it. I was bawling about 10 minutes in [laughs], in a good way. I’m just always happy when I can be part of things that can inspire, and I was honored that they wanted to use ‘Love Wins’ in the movie.”

The film’s soundtrack, which is available now, not only features “Love Wins,” but songs by Maddie & Tae, Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton, Darius Rucker and Adam Hambrick, among others.

You may have seen the star-studded cast of Carrie, Chrissy Metz, Lauren, Mickey and Maddie & Tae performing one of the songs – “I’m Standing With You” – on Sunday night’s ACM Awards. If you didn’t see the goosebump-inducing performance, click here.

Carrie is in rehearsals for her upcoming Cry Pretty 360 Tour, which will kick off May 1st in Greensboro, North Carolina. M&T and Runaway June will be along for the ride.

“I was approached about being a part of the Breakthrough movie and having a song in the movie a while back ago, and we’re on the road doing album promo. They sent us the movie to watch ‘cause I definitely wanted to get to see it before I could say yes, I want to be a part of that, and the second it was over, I said, ‘Yes. I want to be a part of this.’ It’s such an inspiring movie. But yeah, I’m just always happy when I can be part of things that can inspire and I was honored that they wanted to use ‘Love Wins’ in the movie.”
