Chris Stapleton will open a couple of shows for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers later this month, and he couldn’t be more thrilled since he’s a huge fan of the rocker.
“I’m a huge Tom Petty fan, and he’s one of my all-time favorites and the Wildflowers album, in particular, is possibly my favorite record of all-time,” says Chris. “This is something his booking agents and my guys have been working on for a time, or so they told me…and they came up with to play Wrigley and the Summerfest up in Milwaukee, and why wouldn’t we do that? [laughs] I buy tickets to Tom Petty, so I’d certainly be more than happy to be on a bill with him.”
Chris will open for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers June 29th at Wrigley Field in Chicago and at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin July 5th.
The Kentucky native is on the airwaves with his single, “Either Way,” from his new album, From A Room, Volume 1, which was just certified gold (the only new country album to achieve gold status this year so far).
