CLARE DUNN DEBUTS NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘TUXEDO.’
Artist
Clare Dunn

Clare Dunn debuted her “Tuxedo” music video with VEVO today. The video, directed by Kristin Barlowe, was shot on an actual working Tennessee farm.

Clare explains, “’Tuxedo’ is a song about my dream guy and the example my dad set for me as to what to look for in strength of character in a man. So that’s where ‘Tuxedo’ came from, and I wanted to represent that real story in the video.”

The Colorado native came up with the concept for the video. “I’m so proud that I got a chance to show the fans out there more of who I am just as a person, as a farm girl,” she says. “I grew up riding horses and working out in a horse barn and working cattle and fixing fence, and I grew up watching the men and women out there in my part of the world working side-by-side. And so, I was just very excited to get to bring more of who I am as a farm girl to this video and get to show people that side of me.”

Currently playing at radio, “Tuxedo” is off Clare’s self-titled EP and was written by Clare, Ben West and Brett James.

Declared “One To Watch” by Billboard, The Boston Globe, Huffington Post, Rolling Stone, USA Today and more, Clare has made a strong impression on critics and audiences alike with her stellar guitar work, her honest lyrics and her no-holds-barred stage show.

Audio / We asked Clare Dunn if her model-esque leading man in the “Tuxedo” video could actually fix a fence (ride a horse, etc.) or did she have to whisper how to do it while filming. Here’s what she had to say:

“Our leading man, Lee, I have no doubt knows how to fix [a] fence. For the sake of time and because we were on an actual ranch, we could not [laughs] cut the fence and rebuild it. But Lee comes from sort of a similar background as I do and grew up with cattle, and so I have no doubt that he knew how to fix the fence. But even if he hadn’t, I’m confident that I could’ve whispered some tips and tricks to him and we could’ve got it done.’ [laughs]

Audio / The video for Clare Dunn’s single “Tuxedo,” was her concept, one that actually reflects how she grew up.

“The video is actually the movie that was playing in my head when I wrote the song – these are the things that I was imagining, and when I write songs I sort of write the video right there in my head. I called Joanna up at my record label, and I told her my idea and I was lucky enough that they all liked it and we set to work finding a director that got it and understood my vision. We were so lucky to find Kristin Barlowe, and she definitely, she understood what I wanted and then it was a process of all of us honing in on my ideas. I was very fortunate to have a team that just really worked so hard to bring my vision to life. I’m so proud that I got a chance to show the fans out there more of who I am just as a person, as a farm girl. I grew up riding horses and working out in a horse barn and working cattle and fixing fence, and I grew up watching the men and women out there in my part of the world working side-by-side.
