CLARE DUNN RELEASES HER SELF-TITLED DEBUT EP THIS WEEK.
Artist
Clare Dunn

Clare Dunn releases her self-titled debut EP on Friday (September 18th) to all digital retailers. The guitar slinger co-wrote and co-produced all five songs on the collection, AND she played lead guitar on each track, including her single “Move On.”

She didn’t start playing guitar until she moved to Nashville and found she needed to learn how to play if she was going to record songs the way she already had them mapped out in her head.

“I started playing guitar out of necessity to get my sound out of my head. I realized when I came to town that when I was in the studio working with musicians, and especially guitar players, I always heard things a certain way, and I obviously lacked the vocabulary to express that,” says the Colorado native. “Through many failed attempts of trying to explain how I heard tones and effects and guitar licks and melodies, it dawned on me that, hey, I can’t explain this, then I’m probably gonna have to try it. I need to go ahead and see if it’s something I can do. So, I did. I started working at it.”

Clare Dunn EP Track List:

  1. “Ferrari”
    2. ”Move On”
    3. “Tuxedo”
    4. “Old Hat”
    5. “Cowboy Side of You”

I think being a singer obviously helped me play, because I could hear things and just had to find it on the guitar.”

Clare Dunn (discovered music) OC: …that way. :40
“I did most of my music discovery as a young girl driving a tractor for most of the day – 10, 12 hours a day, you have nothing but the radio as your companion, basically, to keep you entertained. So, there was a local country radio station, and they, along with my parents’ love of music, I mean, that’s how I found Keith Urban and George Strait. My mom is a huge Waylon Jennings’ fan. And so music for me, I discovered it driving long hours on a tractor or hauling water to a cattle in a pickup by myself or through my parents’ love of music. And so, I was really fortunate that way.”
