CMA AWARDS 2014: Little Big Town (AUDIO)

Little Big Town have won the CMA Vocal Group of the Year award the past couple of years, and they’re nominated once again. The band, who just released their new album, Pain Kiwerller, said they always watched the CMA Awards when they were growing up to see who was there, what they were performing and how glamorous it all was. The huge global audience for the show is not lost on the band at all.

“Seeing Reba win Female Vocalist for the first time, Vince Gill performing for the first time and wondering who he was – voice of an angel,” says Karen. “All these great moments of discovery for us, I think, as fans of country music watching that show, and that’s still what it is for so many people, and that’s why we don’t take that lightly at all is that it’s our chance to introduce ourselves to so many people and we get a chance to do that on a really, really big, iconic platform.”

The 48th Annual CMA Awards will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday (November 5th) at 8pm ET on ABC.

It was so glamorous, so glamorous, especially back then. I don’t know if it comes off as nearly as glamorous now, but back then it felt so much bigger than life and OH!” PHILLIP: “I think I still see it that way. It’s very glamorous, very classy. It’s a chance for country music gets all dressed up and looks really sharp. It’s cool. It makes country music look good, which it is. It’s amazing.”
