DIERKS BENTLEY GOES FREE-FALLING DURING THE VIDEO FOR ‘BOURBON IN KENTUCKY.’ (AUDIO)

You will see Dierks Bentley in a muvh different light once the video for his latest single, “Bourbon in Kentucky” is released. He says it’s “definitely the most unique, craziest video” he’s ever done, which could be attributed to the choice of video directors – Ryan Pallotta, who has been at the helm of clips by Robin Thicke, Faith Evans, Demi Lovato and Ne-Yo, among others. “There’s falling, there’s flying, I’m suspended by cables that really hurt,” says Dierks. While he didn’t get injured in the making of the clip, he probably had to throw out a pair of shoes that caught on fire during one scene. It didn’t phase him in the least, since his hobbies often include flying planes, playing hockey and riding motorcycles.

Dierks, with his smoldering good looks and logging time on several of Country Music’s Sexiest Men lists, said don’t expect him to look pretty in the video. “It’s not gonna be a real cheery video, I don’t think [LAUGHS]. But I don’t really want a cheery video at this point…There was no pretty close up shots of me singing the song, because it’s hard to sing the song and look pretty.”

“Bourbon in Kentucky” is the first single from his forthcoming album, Riser, due this fall. The video should hit the airwaves in the coming weeks.

Dierks Bentley (Bourbon in KY video) OC: …to look like. :52
“This is definitely the most unique, craziest video I’ve ever done. Every shot I was in, and our director, again, going with the process of trying new things and just having fun — we worked with a guy I don’t think he’s done anything in country before, but I really liked talking to him on the phone and I thought he had a great idea. He had this crazy idea of me kind of free falling into these different kind of situations and fire and a car filling up with bourbon while I’m singing inside the car, and this room with bottles exploding around me and stuff coming off the walls. And this girl that’s like a figment of my imagination. She’s there, sometimes she’s not there. It’s not gonna be a real cheery video I don’t think [LAUGHS]. But I don’t really want a cheery video at this point. We’ll see. There was no pretty close up shots of me singing the song, because it’s hard to sing the song and look pretty. It’s a very intense vocal song, so I have no idea what [the video] going to look like.”
