Dierks Bentley is coming off a two-week No. 1 with the song “Somewhere on a Beach,” and he’s been trying to figure out the next single from his new album, Black, which sometimes isn’t an easy task.
“That’s the toughest. That’s why I don’t sleep at night is trying to figure out singles for radio,” says Dierks. “All you can do is make a good album. I don’t think about singles when I’m making an albums. I don’t think about touring, and then you get done with it. You only get a few songs to put out there to radio [from an album], and I love country radio. My CD player doesn’t even work in my truck. I listen to country radio, and the fans – that’s how they get their music. That’s, you want songs to represent the album that are also hits, and it’s just a lot of pressure on it.”
His new album, Black, will be released Friday (May 27th). Dierks will take the music from Black and some of his biggest hits to The Highline Ballroom in New York City on Wednesday (May 25th).
Dierks will rock out during the Today Show‘s Citi Summer Concert Series at Rockefeller Plaza on Friday (May 27th).
