DIERKS BENTLEY’S “GONE” WAS A MAGNETIC FORCE FOR THE SINGER WHEN IT CAME TIME TO RECORD.
Artist
Dierks Bentley

Dierks Bentley is about to take over the top of the country charts with his latest single “Gone.” He gravitated towards the song, written by Nicolle Galyon, Ben Johnson and Niko Moon, when he first saw the title and the clever wordplay in the song.

“When it came time to cut some stuff, that song just kind of rose to the top, and I gravitated towards it because I love the title,” says Dierks. “I love a good classic country wordplay of ever since you left, I’ve been gone, but he actually hasn’t gone anywhere. I feel like I’ve been gone. I feel like we’ve all been gone. So, it touches on a little bit of the idea of what’s been going on here with COVID, but it does it in a metaphorical way through a relationship. So, it touches on a way we can all relate to, but I just love the groove. I love the way it feels. One of the good things about not writing the song is I can brag on it. It’s written well. It’s well-written with a great groove; it’s fun to listen to.”

If Dierks hits the top of the charts, it’ll be his 20th No. 1.

The headliner will hit the road with his Beers On Me Tour with Parker McCollum and Riley Green August 13th in Salt Lake City, Utah.
