George Strait received a nomination for Entertainer of the Year at next month’s ACM Awards. Country Music’s troubadour, who picked up the same award at the CMA Awards this past fall, has won the award once before, in 1989, although he’s been nominated several times.
With another hit on the radio with “I Got a Car” and the award nominations and wins, he says he’s thrilled to still be a viable act.
“To be here and still being a part of the business and nominated for awards and current and everything, it’s just unbelievable,” says George. “And I’m enjoying every bit of it.”
The Country Music Hall of Famer is currently on the last leg of his farewell tour, The Cowboy Rides Away. The next scheduled stop for the trek is April 4th in Wichita, Kansas.
