GEORGE STRAIT RELEASES LIVE FROM AT&T STADIUM. (AUDIO)

George Strait hits stores with The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium Tuesday (September 16th). The show, which also featured special guests Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Jason Aldean, Ray Benson, Kenny Chesney, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Asleep at the Wheel’s Ray Benson, was performed in front of nearly 105,000 folks.

Eric Church not only performed in Dallas for the final show, but he opened up for King George a few times during the tour, and the Country Music Hall of Famer was very impressed with how he held the crowd in his hands. “Eric Church is just a great artist. He’s a great songwriter. He’s a really great performer and great songwriter. He’s got the total package,” says George. “When we did our shows together during the tour he came out and well he said I’m just going to do – I’m not going to bring my band. I’m just going to do a set just me and my guitar. And I’m going well alright. If that what he wants to do that’s fine. That’s going to be a little difficult I think to pull off because you’ve got 20,000 people there and you’re doing an hour or whatever it was he was going to do just him and his guitar. And not too many people could pull that off but he did. He pulled it off and the crowd loved it.”

However, all doesn’t seem bright and rosy between the two. The Country Music Hall of Famer is taking issue with how Eric and his wife, Catherine, bonded with his dog Jammer, and he’s not giving up the details.

“I really got to know him when we worked together and we spent some time together on the bus after those two nights. We had some drinks together, and his wife and he got involved with my dog and that’s another story,” he laughs. “We won’t go into that, but my dog is safe now. I have him home, and he’s doing alright, but he’s had to see some people, but anyway. (laughs)”

The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium features such hits as “Check Yes or No,” “The Love Bug,” “Cowboys Like Us,” “Marina Del Ray,” “Here for a Good Time,” “Murder on Music Row,” “The Chair,” “Give It All We Got Tonight” and “Ocean Front Property.”

AUDIO: George Strait talks about performing with Eric Church during his Cowboy Rides Away Tour, and apparently something happened on the road with his dog, Jammer, that King George would rather not talk about.

“Well, Eric Church is just a great artist. He’s a great songwriter. He’s a really great performer and great songwriter. He’s got the total package. When we did our shows together during the tour he came out and well he said I’m just going to do – I’m not going to bring my band. I’m just going to do a set just me and my guitar. And not too many people could pull that off but he did. He pulled it off and the crowd loved it. And so I didn’t know Eric very well until, I don’t know, maybe – I had heard his music for sure but I really got to know him when we worked together and we spent some time together on the bus after those two nights. We had some drinks together, and his wife and he got involved with my dog and that’s another story. (laughs) We won’t go into that, but my dog is safe now. I have him home, and he’s doing alright, but he’s had to see some people, but anyway. (laughs) So anyway, again, he’s a great artist and when he agreed to do the Dallas show, so just check that off, another good one.”
