Jon Pardi has climbed into the Top 40 on the country charts with his new single “Cowboys And Plowboys” with pal and labelmate Luke Bryan. Jon represents the cowboy side of things with his ranching experience, while Luke embodies the characteristics and lifestyle of the plowboys (or farmers). However, the two are not completely separate, but contain many similarities as showcased in the song, written by Rhett Akins, Jacob Rice and Cole Taylor.
“Both farming and ranching is hard work, and if you do it for a living, you know,” says Jon.
“You have that bond of hard work together, and I think it’s really special. Of course, there’s ranching, you’ve got to drive tractors and there’s a lot of similar stuff in both of farming and ranching, so it’s just an awesome song.”
The recently-crowned Grand Ole Opry member will head to Mexico for Luke’s annual Crash My Playa event later this month. The four-day event takes place January 17th-20th at the Moon Palace Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Jon and his wife Summer just announced they’re expecting baby number-two, who will be welcomed by big sister, 11-month-old Presley.
