Kacey Musgraves had a chance for reflection, emotion and gratitude when her exhibit, All the Colors, opened at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The display features detention slips from school, song lyrics, baby photos, senior yearbook, outfits, light up boots and so much more of her storied life and career.

For the Golden, Texas native, it was emotional going through the items featured in the exhibit.

“I’m very proud of my story and where I am right now,” says Kacey. “Something that I try really hard to work at is being present in the moment, and there’s so many beautiful things happening all the time, and I don’t think that a human really knows how to do that, how to be good at that. So, I didn’t think it would make me super-emotional – iI think it takes a lot for me to do that – but to see everything laid out in a physical sense, a timeline, it really healthy and beautiful thing for me because there’s so much that you forget and you just, I’m somebody who gets really excited about what’s in front of me and then I check it off and I move on to the next thing. It’s fun for me to do that, but there’s a lot that gets lost in the blur of all of the busyness, and but there’s a lot to be celebrated and a lot to be remembered. So, it’s actually really beautiful and really gratifying, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to share those things.”

The exhibit runs through June 7th, 2020, and in support of the exhibition, she will participate in a conversation at the CMHOF Saturday (July 6th).
