Kacey Musgraves is only a couple of weeks away from releasing her debut album, Same Trailer, Different Park, and she says the collection – which includes her Top 10 debut single “Merry Go ‘Round” – is a culmination of her life until this point. “The songs all came from different aspects of my life over the years,” says Kacey. “You have your whole life to make your first record, so it really comes from inspiration from everywhere.”
Kacey has been able to showcase songs from the new album, due in stores March 19th, on Little Big Town’s Tornado Tour, and will be able to play them for fans when she hits the road with Kenny Chesney on his No Shoes Nation trek, kicking off March 16th in Tampa, Florida.
Kacey is also nominated for a handful of ACM Awards, including Top Female Vocalist and Music Video of the Year for “Merry Go ‘Round” for both artist and director.

“I made it with two friends of mine – Shane McAnally and Luke Laird. It was, for all three of us, the first time that we’ve ever gotten to produce anything, but it just felt right and natural and good. The songs all came from different aspects of my life over the years. You know, you have your whole life to make your first record, so it really comes from inspiration from everywhere – relationships I was in and whatever.”
