Kacey Musgraves releases the video for “Space Cowboy,” the first visual from her critically-acclaimed #1 album Golden Hour. “Space Cowboy,” co-written by Kacey with Luke Laird and Shane McAnally, has received widespread praise since its release. The track was debuted on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Rolling Stone’s “The Playlist,” and has been hailed as one of 2018’s best songs so far by Stereogum. The FADER dubbed the song a “bittersweet, heartbreakingly replayable masterpiece,”with NPR proclaiming it “a tender, if slightly tart, goodbye to an old love whose airy, piano-driven arrangement perfectly suits Musgraves’ delicate voice and inherent emotional equanimity. Its elegance takes Musgraves beyond the confines of contemporary country.”
Golden Hour is Kacey’s third #1 debut on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, following the success of Same Trailer Different Park and Pageant Material. The album has been lauded by fans and press alike, with USA Today declaring “’Golden Hour’ may be 2018’s best album yet,” SPIN asserting, “Kacey Musgraves’ pristine Golden Hourmight be a classic,” and Vulture observing “an album of this quality and collectively agreed upon acclaim typically comes once a career for an artist, if it ever comes at all. It’s lightning in a bottle.” Surrounding Golden Hour’s release, Kacey has made high-profile TV appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, TODAY and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Kacey will go on to make her Saturday Night Live debut on May 12th.
