Music can be a strangely powerful thing – you never know what melody, what lyric, what recording may hit you “just right” and become the song you’ll spend the rest of your life humming, singing along to in the car, or thrilled to see and hear in concert. And Keith Urban recognizes that – maybe better than most. Making that connection “feels like the purpose of music for me,” he says. For Keith, it’s almost like a function of nature – “It’s like some kind of bird call in the jungle, in the wild. And certain people respond to the call.” Those who respond? “They’re the ones that come to the concerts,” he says. And even if it’s the first time, Keith’s ready for them – “They hopefully connect and ‘plug in’…and feel something.”
Keith’s Raise ‘Em Up Tour heads to the Midwest this week, hitting Cincinnati, St. Louis and Indianapolis, then swings back to the East Coast next week.
Keith is climbing the charts with “Somewhere in My Car,” his latest hit from Fuse.

Keith Urban (call of the wild) OC: …feel something. :29
“It feels like the purpose of music for me. It’s trying to make a connection. It’s funny. I mean, it’s just…music is like a – it’s like some kind of bird call in the jungle, in the wild. And certain people respond to the call. And those are the people – hopefully – they’re the ones that come to the concerts. And a lot of people that have never seen us play, they hopefully connect and ‘plug in’…and feel something.”
