Kylie Morgan grew up wanting to be a country music artist in Nashville, even telling her mom she wanted to skip college at age 12. The Oklahoma native started traveling to Music City to write songs when she was only 15-years-old, and she finally convinced her parents she would be just fine on her own four years later.
“I had a group of incredible songwriters that’s crazy enough that I still write with today that agreed to write with a 15-year-old, which is crazy to me, and just took me under their wing and believed in me. So, I knew the destination was always Nashville, that’s where I wanted to end up eventually, but I was still in school and so I actually ended up doing online school my sophomore through senior year because I was touring around everywhere really,” recalls Kylie. “When I was 19, I was lucky enough to sign my first pub (lishing) deal out here in Nashville and that allowed me to kind of convince my parents to be like hey, I have a for sure job out there. I have something that I’m going towards, and that’s when they were like, okay, if that’s what you want to do. And so, I actually saved up all the money that I made touring and bought my first house here in Nashville, and my papaw helped me load up this ginormous trailer full of thrift store furniture that I had found, and we made the 12-hour drive from Oklahoma to Nashville. And it’s finally here and it’s all coming together after so many years of man, blood, sweat and tears, it’s finally all happening.”
Kylie is currently making her way up the country charts with “If He Wanted To He Would,” and she’s nominated for Breakthrough Female at this year’s CMT Music Awards.

“My papaw’s actually from Chattanooga, Tennessee, so he was born and raised there and I had been traveling back and forth since I was a baby to Tennessee to visit family.
