LADY ANTEBELLUM SCORE THEIR NINTH NO. 1 SINGLE WITH ‘BARTENDER.’ (AUDIO)

Lady Antebellum’s “Bartender” climbs to the top of both the Country Aircheck and Billboard country charts. This is the band’s ninth No. 1 single, and the first release from their forthcoming album, 747, which lands in stores and online September 30th.

“She’s taking control of her heartbreak, and is like going out and going with her friends. It’s not about going and rebounding with another guy. She’s gonna go out with her friends and just have a night to just forget about what this dude just did to her,” says Lady A’s Hillary Scott. “I love that, as a woman, kind of taking the reins a little bit of the situation and just kind of getting over it…in a fun way.”

Lady A is performing the song on their Take Me Downtown Tour, which heads to York, Pennsylvania on Saturday (September 6th).

“I love the fact that it’s not this song about her just – ‘My heart’s been ripped out. I’m so sad. He broke my heart. He did me wrong. It’s like she’s taking control of her heartbreak, and is like going out and going with her friends. It’s not about going and rebounding with another guy.
