Lauren Alaina took to the streets of Nashville to spread a little Christmas cheer on Tuesday night (December 17th). She gathered a few friends to go caroling door-to-door in a Nashville neighborhood. The 19-year-old alternately called her group the Alaina Clauses or the Hal-Alaina Chorus, who performed such classic holiday tunes as “Deck the Halls,” “Silent Night,” “Away in a Manger” and “Jingle Bells,” among others.
The group didn’t perform a couple of her favorite Christmas songs, however. “I have a few favorites, like a fast favorite, actually surprisingly, is ‘Oh Santa’ by Mariah Carey. I jam to that, girl. I am crazy about that song,” says Lauren. “I also like ‘O Holy Night’ when I really want to sing and get in the Christmas spirit.”
Most folks who had the luck of having the 2011 American Idol contestant sing for them didn’t recognize Lauren. However, according to USA Today, one woman told her, “You should go on American Idol.”
