Little Big Town return as hosts for “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” on Tuesday (August 4th) at 8:00pm ET.

The group not only are hosting this three-hour special event, but they’re also performing on the show, as well. “One of the moments, I think, that stood out to me was, the biggest, I mean when we actually got to play and perform the music, as opposed to all of the hosting duties. We started our set with ‘Girl Crush,’ and that moment just swept me away. The whole crowd was lit up – their phones were lit up – and they were singing louder than we were,” says LBT’s Phillip Sweet. “It just was the most incredible feeling to feel that energy and all focused on ‘Girl Crush’ and the starkness of that song. It was just like the most incredible moment for me.”

For folks who want to come next year, LBT’s Kimberly Schlapman gives you a few safety tips. “It happens to the hottest week of the summer, every CMA Fest. Really. It’s so very hot, so you’ve got to wear a lot of sunscreen because there’s a lot of burnt backs that happen at CMA Fest,” says Kimberly. “Stay hydrated. Stay hydrated. It is so hot out there. It’s hot on the stage. It’s hot in the crowd, but you should come. If you’re even considering coming, come. You will not be disappointed.”

Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Kip Moore, Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, Brett Eldredge and Carrie Underwood will also be among the performers. The CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock will air Tuesday, August 4th beginning at 8pm ET on ABC.

KIMBERLY: “To me, it doesn’t get any better than singing for that crowd at the stadium. So many of ‘em do it for their family vacation, so they save up their money all year long and generations of these families come to make it their family vacation, and they’re there to hear just good ole great country music. And we got to host this year, which is just so much fun in itself, and so many different funny things happened, and all that, but…” PHILLIP: “One of the moments, I think, that stood out to me was, the biggest, I mean when we actually got to play and perform the music, as opposed to all of the hosting duties. KIMBERLY: “It happens to the hottest week of the summer, every CMA Fest. Really. It’s so very hot, so you’ve got to wear a lot of sunscreen because there’s a lot of burnt backs that happen at CMA Fest.” PHILLIP: “Get those fan misters. Those are so good.” KIMBERLY: “Those are so cool. Just be smart. Stay hydrated. Stay hydrated. It is so hot out there. It’s hot on the stage. It’s hot in the crowd, but you should come. If you’re even considering coming, come. You will not be disappointed.” PHILLIP: “Yeah, it’s hot, but it’s like so much fun, that you don’t think about it as much, because there’s so much to do and so many concerts going on, and it’s like the town just triples in size and it’s just incredible energy all over the place. Nashville comes alive.”
