Little Big Town’s upcoming ninth studio album Nightfall will be available for pre-order this Friday. With the preorder, fans will automatically get “Sugar Coat” a powerful and gripping song from the album penned by “Girl Crush” writer Lori McKenna along with Josh Kerr and Jordyn Shellart. Grammy-nominated “The Daughters” and current single “Over Drinking” will also be instantly accessible to fans with the pre-order.
The “Sugar Coat” official music video will also world premiere Friday morning at 10am CST/11am EST and stars acclaimed actress and producer Kate Bosworth (The Long Road Home, 21, Superman Returns, Blue Crush) in a breathtaking performance. The video also showcases actor Isaiah Stratton (Homeland) as the lead male.
“I play a woman who is in a complicated marriage,” says Bosworth. “She is often lonely and unfulfilled – realizing that she is not getting what she needs from a partner, devastated by the choices that her husband is making. As she slowly discovers what is happening, while it’s a sad moment, it is ultimately a resilient one. She finds her strength, her fortitude, and ultimately herself. It was an honor to bring this song to life with a band that I love.”
The video was shot outside of Nashville and was directed by brother-sister duo, Stephen and Alexa Kinigopoulos (Running Bear) who set the stage in the early 1960s. The story gives a look into the all too familiar comfort of putting on a pretty face in times of duress, and beautifully captures the tale of a betrayed housewife that takes viewers not only through a music video but what also feels like a short film.
Nightfall is set for release January 17th following an album release show at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in NYC on January 16th.
