Nashville- (October 29, 2014) – Luke Bryan achieved the best touring year of his career in 2014 with 1.7 million fans attending his concerts. Over the weekend, he wrapped his 77-city “That’s My Kind of Night Tour” playing before 1.2 million fans. This past March 230,000 fans attended his two Spring Break concerts in Panama City Beach, Florida and during the “Farm Tour” this fall another 110,000 gathered for that eight-city run while an additional 160,000 attended additional fairs & festivals Luke headlined. This brings Luke’s headline concert attendance to a grand total of 1.7 million fans in 2014, a career best!
“We have enjoyed seizing the moments every day on this tour,” shared Luke. “We’ve played all types of shows this year. It’s just as exciting to play for smaller capacity crowds during a 2-day run in the very northern point of Canada as it is to 60,000 screaming fans at the stadiums shows or for the beach crowds at Spring Break, or to the first time fan who may have never been to a concert until the ‘Farm Tour’ came to their small rural community. I am so grateful to everyone on my team from my road crew to my fans that have made this year so amazing! I’m having the time of my life.”
Highlights from the “That’s My Kind of Night Tour” include four sold-out stadium shows where a combined 225,000 people attended. Luke set an all-time country record for sold tickets at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and at Soldier Field in Chicago. He sold-out two shows in New York City’s Madison Square Garden and became the first country artist to play Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The tour had double plays in eleven cities and broke numerous venue attendance records along the way.
The Washington Post claimed, “Bryan displayed over-the-top, full-force energy during his Friday night show at Jiffy Lube Live. His infectious everyman persona appeals to a huge swath of the young country audience: the ladies along with the party bros who have their arms slung around those ladies.” The Minneapolis Star Tribune said, “In the spirit of the Oscars, we’d like to present these prizes for Bryan’s show: Best entrance at a country concert by an artist/Best dance moves by a male in the history of country music/Best staging of a country concert this year.” “The massive production of video screens, fire, moving lighting and a giant mid-rink circle stage where the cheap seats became top ducats for a time, would make KISS blush,” said The Calgary Sun. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel shared, “Bryan is the biggest star in country right now. His incredibly animated set Saturday, and a crowd on its feet and singing all night long, left no doubt of that. But as cool and confident as Bryan looked, he never seemed calculated.”
The Detroit News touted, “Bryan is a crowd-pleaser and a good-time guy. (He) has been at this long enough that he’s a confident showman with a fun, laid-back on-stage demeanor. Bryan got a few chances to improvise and in those moments he shined.” “His songs may be rich in country themes, but Luke Bryan transcended country, and was by all measures and in every sense of the word, a rock star,” said buffalo.com. The Dallas Morning News claimed that, “he possesses the chops, the boundless energy and the fervent fan base to outlast any radio trend.”
The tour’s winter leg will launch in February with openers Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch.
