Maddie & Tae had a collaboration of a lifetime when they recorded “Don’t Make Her Look Dumb” with Morgane Stapleton, who is a phenomenal singer and just so happens to be married to Chris Stapleton. The track is featured on their new album, Through The Madness Vol. 1, which is available now.
The duo co-wrote the song with Barry Dean and Luke Laird around the time they penned their No. 1 smash, “Die From A Broken Heart.”
“’Don’t Make Her Look Dumb’ is actually the oldest song on this project,” says Taylor Kerr. “We wrote it about a month after ‘Die From A Broken Heart’…We were in some sad girl stuff.” Maddie Font joked “It was Sad Girl Fall…Like Hot Girl Summer.”
Tae added, “We were ahead of the times, but yeah, this song just found itself back to us for this project and we got to have the collaboration of a lifetime with Morgane Stapleton, so we’re excited for everyone to hear this one.”
The two co-wrote all eight tracks on the new album.
