Maddie & Tae are really into their Mother Era and enjoying every single moment. Tae gave birth to daughter Leighton in January 2022, while Maddie, who will be experiencing her first Mother’s Day this weekend, welcomed son Forrest last year.

They love everything about being a mother, but Tae says she’s especially enjoying having actual conversations with Leighton. “There are so many things that I love about being a mother, but I think my top favorite is just having like a mini little bestie,” she says. “My daughter’s at like that perfect age. She’s two, and we just do everything together and we have full-blown conversations, and my life is just so much more joyful now.”

Maddie says being a mother to eight-month-old Forrest has given her more purpose and drive. “I think my favorite thing about being a mother is how much purpose and drive it brings to my life,” she says. “My ‘Why’ is so much greater, and it just makes me want to work harder and be a better person, just because my baby deserves it, and Tae’s baby deserves it too ‘cause both of our kiddos have second mamas (TAE: “They do.”) Forrest is basically your baby. Leighton’s basically my baby, so our lives are just so much greater and just so much joy, but we would like a nap this Mother’s Day.” (laughs)
