• CARRIE UNDERWOOD THROWS A PARTY AT THE OPRY FOR HER FANS.

  • CAYLEE HAMMACK HIGHLIGHTS INFLUENCES ON DYNAMIC NEW TRACK “JUST FRIENDS” AVAILABLE TODAY.

Caylee Hammack is sharing more music with fans today, releasing the head-turning new track “Just Friends,” available to listen here. Co-written by Hammack with Mikey Reaves and Aaron Raitiere, the song manages to channel the tones of country icons Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton in the fluttery first 29 seconds. Co-produced by Hammack, that open leads into a guitar-driven core that pays homage to ‘90s-era alternative tracks by Everclear and Weezer. In the end, Hammack moves in yet another direction, closing with rich piano chording that comes direct from a gospel playbook. “Just Friends” tells listeners much of what they need to know about Hammack. She is all of those things – the country expressionist, the grungy firebrand, the spiritual seeker – pulled together in an intoxicating, yet cohesive way.

“We sat in the studio that day, bouncing between two extremely different melodic ideas I had started about the same theme the day before; inspired by the aftermath of a breakup I had recently gone through,” explains Caylee. “We finally decided to attempt to tell both sides of the emotional rollercoaster I was on by intertwining the two melodies into one song. I loved the idea of the clear juxtaposition between the two and how this song gave us a moment to tip our hats to the older country that raised us and the 90’s alternative music we all found solace in when we were teenagers.”

“It’s one of my favorites to perform live,” she says, “I love to start crooning the opening lines at shows and watching people start to slowly sway, then snap back into focus when the electric guitars start screaming on the second verse. It shows both sides of my personality in a few minutes, which is cathartic for me.”

Hear more about the song from Hammack here.

The Ellaville, Georgia native is set to make her National TV debut on TODAY on May 29th where she will perform her “high-spirited” (Variety) single “Family Tree.” Also co-written and co-produced by Hammack, it was the most-added debut song by a female artist upon impact at Country radio in over three years. Check out the video below.

“I love the idea of the juxtaposition of the very soft, kind of nod towards older country in the beginning of that song, showing a little bit more of the heartbreak and the vulnerability of going through a breakup. And then being able to get into the angst and the anger behind that breakup and being able to use that to fuel more of an Everclear-esque sound.”

“I feel like women especially relate to this song because all of us have found a really good man and maybe a great friend, but was really bad at being a boyfriend and just didn’t really get the idea of that. This song is kind of going through all that frustration and the anger of, ‘I should’ve listened to my mom.’ My mom, for some reason, knew you were wrong for me, but I didn’t listen to her. I listened to my heart, and I listened to you. And I feel like it really connects with women, because all of us have went through a situation like this, and it’s frustrating every time.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY AND BROTHERS OSBORNE WERE “BURNING UP” OVER THE “BURNING MAN” VIDEO.

Dierks Bentley is known to go the extra mile to make sure he’s made a great video for his songs. For the song, “Black,” he went to Iceland, he also got “Drunk on a Plane.” He’s shot videos late at night and early in the morning, but his “Burning Man” video may take the cake with comfort taking a back seat to the visual element. He and his pals TJ and John Osborne, otherwise known as Brothers Osborne, went out in the hot, hot, hot desert to catch some iconic footage for the clip, which is nominated for two CMT Music Awards during tonight’s show.

“‘The ‘Burning Man’ video shoot was, it was difficult. Sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort for, obviously, the view, for the way it turns out, for the area you’re shooting the video in and trying to get these great shots, and your comfort is secondary, which I’m totally fine with because I just want a great video that supports a great song. I’m always nervous making videos, because if I’m putting a song out there as a single, I feel like it’s a very special song, and I don’t want the video possibly make the song not be as good as it is, you know what I mean,” says Dierks. “In this case, it meant shooting at a body of water out by Palm Springs that’s totally dead. It’s called the Salton Sea, and it used to be a place where Frank Sinatra would be water skiing. It was this beautiful place. I don’t know what happened, but the water…the whole thing is completely dead. There’s no fish living in there. It smells terrible. It’s super hot. There’s rattlesnakes under every single rock. We lost about four or five people from heat stroke; TJ’s boots were like melting into the rocks. [laughs] It was unbelievable. I felt so bad for those guys, because when you do a duet with somebody, you’re kind of signing on to do more than just singing on a track. You’re gonna be there for awards shows, for videos, but they were great as they always are. I love those guys. It turned out great. It looks awesome on TV, which is the whole point. It was an interesting place to do a video, but we were nominated for a CMT [Award], so it all turned out well.”

Dierks is currently making his way up the country charts with his latest hit, “Living.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about the behind-the-scenes action on his "Burning Man" video with Brothers Osborne.

  • MEMORIAL DAY 2019 AUDIO

Memorial Day, originally known as Decoration Day, originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the fallen Union soldiers of the Civil War. However, by the turn of the 20th century, Memorial Day celebrated Americans who have sacrificed their lives in all wars.

Some of your favorite country artists talk about what it means to be free because of the brave men and women willing to fight and sacrifice for our freedom as we lean into this Memorial Day Weekend..

“My dad was in the National Guard for six years, and his dad was in the Army and in North Africa during World War II. One of my good buddies, Dan Berry, is a captain at Fort Campbell. I’m incredibly humbled every time I’m around those guys, because it really just puts it in perspective. Memorial Day is a special time to remember and gain perspective that everything we enjoy comes with a price, and these guys have paid the ultimate price and so have their families. So, to anybody that’s served in the military, we salute you, and we couldn’t have the life we have without you.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley, whose own father was a World War II veteran, talks about the sacrifices made by U.S. servicemen and women.

Dierks (Memorial Day) OC: …upon them. :37
“On the most basic level, I think, for me on the road, I just think about being gone two, three days at a time, maybe a couple of weeks at a time, you know. That seems like a long time when you have kids and family, but these soldiers, they’re gone for months and years at a time – they’re doing 12 to 15 to 18 months — and they have family back home. That, in itself, is such a huge sacrifice, and that’s just the beginning of it. That’s just scratching the surface of what these guys [and gals] are doing every day – preparing for battle, actually being in battle, being wounded in battle, sometimes dying in battle. So, this country obviously, we would not exist without those courageous men and women, and our future depends upon them.”

Audio / ERIC CHURCH, WHOSE GRANDFATHERS SERVED IN WORLD WAR II, SAYS THE SACRIFICES THE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE MILITARY MAKE ARE REALLY TOUCHING.

Eric Church (grandfathers in WW2) OC: …touching to me. :21
“Both of my grandfathers were World War II veterans. I mean, that’s something that’s very rare. I’m not unique, you know. There’s a lot of people out there like that that their grandfathers served. The way that I was raised was very much red, white and blue and very patriotic, and I think that it’s the fact that what they give up is the real thing that’s very touching to me.”

Audio / Eric Church says we should celebrate our freedom AND the people fighting for our freedom.

Eric Church (Memorial Day) OC: …those freedoms. “It’s about, especially the soldiers I come in contact with on the road. And not only that, to be able to make the music that I’m able to make, to say what I want to say, and that freedom to be able to do those things and to be in a country where we’re able to do that and to be in a country where we’re able to play that stuff on the radio. I don’t think you’re going to have any America argue that America isn’t the best place to live, and I’m certainly one of them. I’m very proud to be from here and very proud that we have the soldiers. I know there are a lot of other countries out there in the world that don’t want to live the way we do, and that’s fine, they can keep living the way they are, but I’m very proud of it. I think that’s a time to celebrate being proud to be an American and celebrate those freedoms…and celebrate the people that are over fighting for those freedoms.”

“You know, both my grandparents were in the service; my cousin was also a Marine, so the military hits close to home. I mean I can’t say enough about ‘em. We live in the best country in the world, and it’s because of those guys and because of the people that came before ‘em. So, I can’t thank ‘em enough. I wish we had Memorial Day every day, but it is great to have one day to thank the men and the women that gave it all.”

Audio / KEITH URBAN IS THANKFUL FOR ALL OF THE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE ARMED FORCES.

Keith Urban (Memorial Day) OC: …families too. :35
“It’s one of the things I comment on fairly regularly when we’re playing concerts, especially outdoor festivals, where I look around and think it’s  just amazing freedom to be able to do this, and it doesn’t effortlessly just come, you know? A lot of people are devoting their life, their entire life, to going out and protecting and defending and honoring their own calling. So, I feel immensely grateful for all of the men and women in the military, all in the armed forces, all around the world. The sacrifice they make, especially their families too.

Audio / Sam Hunt talks about his grandfather who served during World War II.

Sam Hunt (Memorial Day) OC: …those freedoms. :40
“My granddad was in World World II. He was on the USS Texas battleship, and he was over at Normandy and over near Japan and he spent a lot of time right in the thick of World War II. He really took pride in what that meant, and it was something I got to see it first hand, as somebody who got to experience that; somebody who had that galvanized American trait. It’s hard to describe it. It was just somebody who’s been through that, seen that and really appreciates what that means. I try to channel that into my life, because I haven’t fought in any war, but I have a ton of respect for folks who have, folks who’ve sacrificed, families who’ve lost lives and just sacrificed years of their own lives and time and effort to maintain those freedoms.”

  • KEITH URBAN RECEIVED A WONDERFUL SURPRISE WHEN HE REALIZED WHO WROTE HIS NEW SINGLE “WE WERE.”

Keith Urban’s latest song, “We Were,” which was the most added song at country radio this week, had a surprise twist for the reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year. He found out late in the process one of his buddies actually co-wrote the song.

“The great thing is I had no idea who wrote the song when I went in and recorded it,” says Keith. “We recorded it last December. I went back in and re-sang it a few times. We had to do what they call label copies – you gotta go through and make sure the lyrics are right. So, I’m doing all that. So, I got sent a lyric sheet and it was the first time I saw the three writers’ names and I saw Eric there, so I texted him right away to let him know I cut that song.”

To say Keith was delighted when he found out Eric, along with frequent collaborators Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde, wrote the song, is an understatement. “He obviously writes a lot of songs, ‘cause when I texted him and asked him, ‘Are you a writer on ‘We Were?’’ And he said, ‘Is that the one with something about a water tower skyline or something?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, that one.’ He said, ‘Yeah.’” (laughs)

After he found out who the writers were on “We Were,” he said it made a lot of sense. The three of them together have a particular thing, you know?  I think they wrote ‘Springsteen,’ as well. They just have a good chemistry, the three of them. But Eric has such a knack for storytelling anyway and choosing images and lyrics that they seem like a thousand people must have used them before, and yet they’re completely original.”

When he’s not on the road performing at numerous fairs and festivals over the summer, he’ll be in the studio working on an upcoming album.

  • ERIC CHURCH SET TO HEADLINE NASHVILLE’S NISSAN STADIUM SOLO.

For the first time in its 20+ year history, Music City’s Nissan Stadium will host a live show featuring a singular artist, sans opening act, as multi-Platinum superstar Eric Church is set to make his stadium-headlining debut this Saturday, May 25. As usual, the country music renegade is doing it his own way.

In keeping with all previous dates on the Double Down Tour, Church alone will perform three hours of music spanning his entire six-album catalog. Remarking on the true uniqueness of this touring approach, Pitchfork declares that he “proves himself the rare star trying to change the game from the inside” while Stereogum notes that he is “at the top of his genre because he breaks its rules in big, exciting, arena-filling ways.”

Last time a Church tour stopped in Nashville was indeed an “arena-filling” night, as he set an attendance record at Bridgestone Arena with 19,000 fans in the building. He will more than double that number as he elevates his current live show praised by People as “worthy of a title such as ‘Entertainer of the Year’” to stadium-filling status.

Prior to the groundbreaking show, the Church Choir Tailgate open to fan club members will take place on the stadium’s South Lawn. Starting at 3:00 p.m., the party will feature exclusive merchandise, games, food trucks, Jack Daniel’s drinks and a unique vinyl truck offering a special edition of Desperate Man that includes a live version of the title track pressed on sky blue vinyl. As doors open, fans will also be treated to the music video premiere for his current Top 15 single, “Some Of It,” on the stadium screens.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – MCA Nashville’s Jordan Davis celebrated a milestone achievement Friday night before he played to a sold-out crowd at The Theater at Madison Square Garden as part of Old Dominion’s “Make It Sweet Tour.” Jordan’s debut album Home State has accumulated over 500 Million worldwide streams spurred by the success of his recent back-to-back No.1 hit singles “Singles You Up” and “Take It From Me.” Since its release, “Singles You Up” has dominated streaming charts spending over a month on the Spotify US Viral Chart (peaking at No.2) in addition to hitting the Spotify Global Viral Chart and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Both tracks are included on Home State as well as Jordan’s current single “Slow Dance In A Parking” (listen HERE) which was No.1 most added at country radio its debut week and continues to climb the country airplay charts.

The accolades continue to pour in for the singer/songwriter after being named Billboard’s Top New Country Artist of 2018 and Country Aircheck/Mediabase’s Most Heard New Artist of 2018.  Jordan just received his first nomination for the CMT Music Awards in the Breakthrough Video of the Year category after winning Best New Country Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in addition to MusicRow’s Breakout Artist of the Year.

Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Jordan has made a strong impression on critics and audiences alike with his classic lyric-writing melded with tech-tinged production. After graduating from LSU in 2012 with a degree in Resource Conservation, Jordan moved to Nashville and honed his songwriting craft influenced by his love of lyrically-driven songwriters and genre-defying musicality. While recently back in his hometown, Jordan felt inspired to record a special cover from one of his influences, Van Morrison, listen HERE.

Jordan is currently on the road with Old Dominion as part of the “Make It Sweet Tour” with upcoming stops in Portland, ME, Gilford, NH and Farmingville, NY. He will next join Rascal Flatts on the “Summer Playlist Tour” starting this June. For a full list of tour dates, news, images and more, visit www.jordandavisofficial.com

“When it came time to name the record, you know, Louisiana is a big part of who I am and I love the fact that I’m from Louisiana and I call Louisiana my home state. One of the main reasons that it’s called that is that this record, the ideas for these songs, the inspiration behind these songs can all be traced back to Louisiana. All those songs [on the record] started in Louisiana, and I thought what better way than to kinda put a line through all of them and tie a bow on this whole record. I thought Louisiana was too much, and I’ve always loved that title, Home State.”

  • JON PARDI HAS THE PERFECT PRESCRIPTION FOR HIS NEW SINGLE.

Jon Pardi announced his highly-anticipated new album, tour and single titled Heartache Medication, following his show-stopping performance on the season finale of “American Idol” with Idol winner Laine Hardy. Set for release on September 27th, Pardi’s upcoming album, Heartache Medication, includes the album’s lead single and title track (set to impact country radio June 3 and available now). Co-written by Pardi, Barry Dean and Natalie Hemby, Pardi revealed the new single showcases a taste of what is to come on the next record exclusively to the Associated Press, noting “the songs lift you up. They put you in a higher place.”

“The single ‘Heartache Medication’ has an 80’s George Strait ‘Fool Hearted Memory’ feel to it, and is something people can dance to,” said Pardi. “That’s something I really wanted for this album. There really are no sad songs on this record-it covers a range of subjects, but is ultimately about moving on, and having a good time.”

Recognized for his “state-of-the-art blend of traditional instrumentation and progressive grooves that points to country’s future” (Rolling Stone) and as “a leader among a growing number of artists bringing back fiddle, steel and twang while still finding ways to freshen the sound” (People), Pardi again serves as a co-producer on the new album, Heartache Medication. Heartache Medication is the follow up to Pardi’s co-produced Platinum-selling breakthrough #1 album California Sunrise, which featured Multi-Platinum, chart-topping hits including “Dirt on My Boots,” “Head Over Boots,” “Heartache on the Dancefloor” and “Night Shift.”

The CMA and ACM Award-winner also revealed plans for his HEARTACHE MEDICATION TOUR featuring direct support Riley Green,* with select pre-sale opportunities starting May 28 and tickets available to purchase everywhere starting May 31. Marking a career first, Pardi will headline back-to-back nights at the historic Ryman Auditorium, where he will kick off his headlining HEARTACHE MEDICATION TOUR in Nashville on Oct. 1 and 2.

Jon Pardi (Heartache Medication) 1 OC: …singing it a lot. :44
“I am so excited about this new single, “Heartache Medication.” I love this song. This title is kind of different, you know kind of about drinkin’, getting to feel better, kinda lost somebody, it’s time to move on, but you’re not sad. You’re happy. It’s feel good, kind of like medication that you need. So, Heartache Medication that’s kind of the way we wrote it. I wrote it with Natalie Hemby and Barry Dean – great writers. It’s very upbeat and traditional, but it’s also just, I think, relevant in a way that it picks you up when you’re feeling down, or if you’re feeling good, it makes you feel extra good, and who doesn’t like a good ole fiddle intro? So, I think it’s gonna be awesome, and I hope y’all dig it, and I’ll be singing it a lot.”
