I want to be a part of this,’” she says. “It’s such an inspiring movie. I can’t wait for my son Isaiah to watch it. I can’t wait for my husband to watch it. I just think it something that everybody will be able to relate to in some way or another, and it’s such an inspiring film. I cried my way through it. I was bawling about 10 minutes in [laughs], in a good way. I’m just always happy when I can be part of things that can inspire, and I was honored that they wanted to use ‘Love Wins’ in the movie.”

  • GEORGE STRAIT KNOWS “THE WEIGHT OF THE BADGE.”

George Strait pays tribute to police officers with “The Weight of the Badge,” a song from his new album, Honky Tonk Time Machine. He wrote the song with his son, Bubba, and frequent collaborator Dean Dillon, after an encounter with an officer during the ceremony honoring him with the Texan of the Year Award.

“Last year, me and Bubba, Tamara and Harvey, everybody Norma, and even Jilliann, I think were there, and I had security, I had an officer who was talking to Harvey and letting him play with his badge and hold it and pinning it on his shirt. And I just got to thinking about that because it really wasn’t that heavy until you put it on it and then it means, it really gets heavy,” says George. “So, that was one of those things I thought was a real important message especially these days and times.”

In addition to his new album containing such an impactful song as “The Weight of the Badge,” the collection also features his Top 20 smash, “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar.”

George will perform at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on June 8th, followed by a show at Gillette Stadium on August 17th. Tickets are now on sale.

Little Big Town Moves the ACMs to Tears With an Emotional Performance of “The Daughters”
…a bold, emotional statement calling for change.
    Rolling Stone
While the lyrics are empowering and even eviscerating, it was Fairchild’s emotional delivery that made the performance so mesmerizing. As she reached the end, singing about how she loves her son and her father, Fairchild’s voice audibly cracked.
…“Daughters” is an inequality anthem that tugs at the heartstrings, challenges the gender imbalance so prevalent in country music and — in Little Big Town’s boldest move since “Girl Crush” — dares radio DJs to leave it off their playlists.

    Billboard
Dressed in all white, the quartet performed its live debut of new single “The Daughters,” a heartstring-tugging ballad that blatantly calls out the unfair burdens society often forces young girls to carry. If lyrics like “And pose like a trophy on a shelf/ Dream for everyone but not yourself” weren’t emotional enough, a troupe of contemporary dancers rushed to the middle of the stage to bring the song’s grappling theme to life.
