A constant road warrior that continues to be “met with more deafening applause” (CMT), the tour will see Moore visit cities across the US and Canada through early December and includes red-hot newcomer Jon Pardi. • HILLARY SCOTT REVEALS HEART OF LOVE REMAINS ALBUM.

    Hillary Love remains

As part of this morning’s exclusive sit-down interview with ABC’s Good Morning America,  Lady Antebellum‘s Hillary Scott announced July 29th as the release date of LOVE REMAINS (EMI Nashville) by Hillary Scott & The Scott Family.

“The process of making this album has been not only creatively inspiring but I’ve also really been able to grow as a person,” shared Hillary Scott. “We’ve had this intense concentrated amount of time as a family together, which has been so special. With all that we’ve gone through together, the highs, the lows – to be able to process all of that together, to heal together, to grieve together, to laugh, to cry, all of those things…it’s just been such a continuation of solidifying the strong foundation that we have in our family.”

After the passing of her grandfather in 2011, Hillary alongside mother Linda Davis, father Lang Scott and younger sister Rylee, leaned on their faith and music as a source of hope through the difficult time. The Scott family yearned to thank loved ones for their support and set out to record demos of family-favorite hymns. As the summer of 2015 wound down and Lady Antebellum soaked-in time off the road, the family’s plans for a five song CD as a gift to family and friends, blossomed into what is now LOVE REMAINS.

The 13-track collection of faith-based songs is a combination of hymns Hillary grew up singing in church, newly-written originals and songs made popular by other artists. With the help of producer Ricky Skaggs, the forthcoming album blurs the lines between gospel, bluegrass, country and pop. At the center of the mix are the rich, entwined voices of the Scotts, who take turns harmonizing and singing lead.

“We didn’t want to make a sad record,” noted Lang Scott. “You’re always sad when you lose a loved one, but if you have that faith, it gives you hope. It gives you the courage to press on.”

While the upcoming album’s lead single “Thy Will” offers that universal message of hope, today on Good Morning America, Hillary also shared her own personal struggle that led to “baring her soul like never before” (People). She revealed that the song was written about a more recent dark chapter in her life, a sudden miscarriage of her second pregnancy during the fall of 2015. To watch her moving interview, click HERE.

Today, fans can simultaneously watch the vibrant music video premiere for “Thy Will” on VEVO here: http://bit.ly/1UnQjal

LOVE REMAINS offers plenty to believe in. These are songs that find the redemption in struggle, the peace in death, the joy in bonding with family members whenever times are tough. The stories behind the songs are personal, it’s music with a message and Hillary Scott has rarely sounded more at home.

In addition to co-writing six chart-topping Lady A hits including the 6x PLATINUM hit “Need You Now,” Scott has also written for artists such as Blake Shelton and Sara Evan’s No. one hit, “A Little Bit Stronger.” As a former MTSU student, the university recently started a scholarship in her honor for young women seeking a career in the music industry.

Audio / Hillary Scott talks about what she went through personally that led her to write "Thy Will."

Hillary Scott (meaning behind the song) OC: …be for naught. 1:53
“What I think gave me the strength to release a song like ‘Thy Will’ first, is that it scares me more to not do it. I think as scary as it is to talk about really hard things that you go through and to be, not only in the public eye all the time, but to also share a huge personal part of my story, because I wrote this song about having a miscarriage. And it’s about feeling like it was time to have another baby and then we get pregnant, and we’re excited all to find out that it’s not meant to be right now. And that it wasn’t right and it wasn’t the right time. And, so that’s what this story is for me. It’s asking God, like, ‘I felt like this was what you were telling us to do, and then all for it to be taken away, but I trust you. I have to trust you and like the song says, like ‘you are God, and I am not. Like, you see the big picture, and I believe that, but I’m not gonna lie to you that this really is hard. This is a real, hard thing to walk through and I need you to help me and thank you for an amazing husband, and a daughter to wake up for every day, you know, all of those things that keep you going.’ But that’s what this song is, and I think I want other people to hear my story and know that you can keep stepping every day, you can breathing you can keep living and never forgetting and never getting over what happened, but you can keep living in the midst of it. And so that’s what this song is. This song is hopefully giving people the freedom to know that it’s okay to question, but don’t forget that He is really, He is for you. He hears you. He sees you, and ultimately it won’t be for naught.”

  • MICKEY GUYTON HITS THE AIRWAVES WITH HER NEW SINGLE, ‘HEARTBREAK SONG.’

Mickey Guyton went through a bad breakup with her ex-boyfriend several years ago, which led to her previous hit single, “Better Than You Left Me.” She recently found out he was going around boasting that she wrote a song about him, which didn’t sit well with the singer. However, it did lead to her new single, “Heartbreak Song.”

“‘Better Than You Left Me.’ That song was kind of like getting over this breakup and becoming better off and realizing it. Then I come to find out that my ex-boyfriend was going around bragging to people that I wrote a song about him, a heartbreak song about him,” says Mickey. “So, I was like, ‘Hmmm, okay. Let me see how I can spin that.’ So, I went into this awesome songwriting session with these really great writers and I’m telling them this story, and I said, ‘I have ‘Heartbreak Song.’ I really want to write something about that.’ And I told them the [story] about my ex-boyfriend bragging to people. And this writer goes, ‘Ooooh. What if we said, ‘I ain’t gonna hit you with a Hearbreak Song?’ And I was like, ‘YES! Ahhhhhhhh! Oprah-style.’ And that’s where we came up with the song.”

“‘Heartbreak Song’ makes me feel sassy. It’s like, I don’t know whenever you go through a heartbreak and you’re, not in revenge, you’re like, ‘I’m good, honey. I’m good, so I’m gonna be out here in the car, I’m going to be driving and all that, and I’ll be dancing while you’re thinking I’m moping around, buddy. But I’m not.’ That’s kind of how I feel. It’s that next phase. It’s that phase where you’re like ‘Bye! Bye, Felicia,’ and really mean it.”

But towards the end of his two-hour plus performance Urban stopped to pay tribute to the victims of last weekend’s shooting in Orlando, by performing U2’s “One.”
“Although I didn’t know anybody in that horrific incident, I did, because they’re just guys and girls, brothers and sisters,” he said.  “They had dreams, hopes, plans, just like every one of us.”

  • LUKE BRYAN DOESN’T TAKE HIS SUCCESS FOR GRANTED.

Luke Bryan is poised to take over the top of the country charts with his latest hit single, “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,’ but he says he never takes a No. 1 or his fans for granted.

“I never take that fun feeling of a big hit [for granted]. I always relish in that, because it’s never easy,” says Luke. “I get crazy excited. We throw parties. We toast each other and we celebrate, because it’s a big deal for us.”

In the case of “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” from his Kill the Lights album, it’s a song that tells fans the kind of person he is, as well as giving them a message for their own lives. “I love it, because at the end of the day, it’s still got a special pretty little message too,” he says. “It is about huntin’ and fishin’, but then it is about getting out there and making the most out of life with the people you love or even just having a day by yourself.”

You can catch him performing “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” on the road with his Kill the Lights Tour, which makes a two-night stand in Toronto June 24th and 25th.

Audio / Luke Bryan says he never takes having a hit for granted, and he’s really enjoying having fans go crazy over his latest single, “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day.”

Luke Bryan (hope for HFLE) OC: …having it out. 1:36
“I never take a No. 1, I never take that fun feeling of a big hit [for granted]. I always relish in that, because it’s never easy. I get crazy excited. We throw parties. We toast each other and we celebrate, because it’s a big deal for us. And then when you look at what ‘Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day’ tells fans, it’s such a real song that pertains to my daily life. I love it, because at the end of the day, it’s still got a special pretty little message too. It is about huntin’ and fishin’, but then it is about getting out there and making the most out of life with the people you love or even just having a day by yourself. I’ve had songs like that on previous albums that spoke that kind of country boy lingo stuff that we were a little hesitant to release to radio, but people are very passionate about it. But this song we got to release it to radio and it got to tell such a great story of who I am. It’s kind of like what ‘We Rode in Trucks’ was for me 10 years ago. Now, it’s my moment to kind of have that song. What’s fun about it is it’s just starting to really, really like, when we kick into it on the road, it’s like [roars], people freak out, and that’s what’s addicting about this stuff. So, yeah, we’re loving having it out.”

  • FATHER’S DAY 2016, PART TWO: Josh, David, Charles

Audio / Proud dad of four (Hampton, Colby, Marion, Hawke), Josh Turner talks about how his three oldest sons are learning the family trade.

    Download

Josh Turner (Father’s Day) OC: …one of ‘em.  1:05
“As far as talent and potential, my oldest three, especially, they could do anything they wanted to do if they put their mind to it and their heart was there. My oldest [Hampton] is incredible at playing mandolin. Colby, we kind of noticed him turn the corner lately with the fiddle, and Marion is actually playing a ukulele that’s tuned like the top four strings on a guitar, so in essence, he’s learning how to play guitar. They’ve just kind of started incorporating some singing into some playing, so they’re starting the whole singing and playing at the same time kind of thing, and not only that, they’re even learning to play songs together on their individual instruments. So, it’s amazing to see how much they can learn in such a short amount of time. It makes me realize how much I missed out on when I was that age, ‘cause I did take some music lessons growing up and everything, but I think they feed off of each other honestly. I think that’s why they’re getting so good is because they’re all doing it, not just one of ‘em.”

Audio / David Nail will be celebrating his first Father’s Day to his two children, six month old twins Lillian and Lawson, at home in Nashville with both his parents and his wife Catherine’s parents.

    Download

    David Nail (1st Father’s Day) OC: …loved you. :58
“It’s going to be special from a standpoint of like my parents are going to be here, Catherine’s parents live here, so it’ll be three generations together, and so that was important for me. You know, I almost enjoy watching my parents hold my children more than I enjoy holding my children, because obviously they know everything we’ve been through and how difficult it was for them to be here. It’s only their second and third grandchildren, and so it’s still really new to them. It’s a first time in a long time that they’ve been through the whole newborn thing again and that process. It’s just really important for me to have family around, and somebody told me, my best friend in the world – Chris Sledge – told me, he said, ‘Man, when you see your kids, you will immediately know on a whole ‘nother level how much your parents loved you.”

Audio / Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum will be performing at a show on his first Father’s Day, but he’s set to meet up with his wife and four month old son at the beach on Monday (June 20th).

Charles Kelley (1st Father’s Day) OC: …a lot of fun. :22
“I’ll actually be on Father’s Day on the road, unfortunately, but I’m flying out the next day to meet my wife and my little boy, Ward. They’re gonna be down at the beach. My wife said she’s gonna cook me a nice meal for me and enjoy the day, but it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”

Audio / Charles Kelley says he is learning to focus on what matters most since he became a father.

Charles Kelley (being a father) OC: …wife Cassie. :38
“Gosh! I mean, being a father, it really puts a lot of things into perspective about making sure you do shut off that side of your brain, that work side of your brain and focus on what matters most. I think n the past, I think I’ve always had it in the back of the mind – work, and once you have a kid, you see something that you love more than yourself. I don’t know. It just really is making me realize how fast time moves and to really and try to enjoy these little moments with my little son and my wife, Cassie.”

Audio / Charles Kelley hopes he’ll be a great father, just like his own dad.

Charles Kelley (qualities as a father) OC: …tolerance. :25
“I hope I’m a great father. My dad, I’ve always looked up to. He’s such a hardworker and an amazing man. He’s always showed me and the rest of my siblings a ton of love. And, so I hpe to instill a strong work ethic into Ward, but also a lot of love and a lot of tolerance.”

Audio / Charles Kelley says his favorite thing right now about his son, Ward, is how much he changes in such a quick amount of time.

    Download

Charles Kelley (favorite thing about Ward right now) OC: …four months old. :29
“I think the most fun thing right now about Ward is, he’s four-months-old, is just to see how much he changes. Every time I come back from a weekend of shows, he’s doing something else. I think every parent feels like their kid is advanced, but I really do think this kid is advanced. There’s just something, he’s so intelligent and so physically like, I don’t know, with it right now. It’s just really fun to see him do all these things that I didn’t expect him to do at four-months-old.”

  • JOSH TURNER SURPRISES NEWCOMER DREW BALDRIDGE ON STAGE AT THE GRAND OLE OPRY.

Five years ago this month, Drew Baldridge made the bold move from his small hometown of Patoka, Ill., to Nashville, TN.  He did so after an 18th birthday surprise trip to Nashville to see Josh Turner play at the Wildhorse Saloon.  Since that evening, Baldrige credit’s Turner for inspiring him to pursue his dream of music. Last night (6/15,) Baldridge stood on the circle for his Grand Ole Opry debut and during his third and last song, the country newcomer got the surprise of his life.

The evening was hosted by Opry announcer/host Bill Cody. Baldridge took to the stage following Opry member John Conlee, and performed the title track to his album debut that was just released Friday, June 10, called “Dirt On Us,” a song he wrote about his hometown and his best friends.  For the second song of the night, Baldridge performed “Tractors Don”t Roll,” also found on his debut album, and for the third and final song of his Opry debut, he performed “Your Man,” a homage to his idol Josh Turner.

Baldridge took a little time to explain his third song choice to the Opry audience stating, “The very first time I came to Nashville, my mom bought me tickets for my 18th birthday to see Josh Turner in concert at the Wildhorse S aloon. I’ll never forget the first time I came here, I went downtown and bought a cowboy hat just so I can have Josh Turner sign it and I don’t even wear cowboy hats!  But I went down there and got a hat, Josh Turner signed it and I watched his show in the front row.  That was the night I decided I was going to move to Nashville and I was gonna do this and try to pursue my dream. It was because of Josh Turner. And I know Josh is a Opry member, and what better way than to sing one of Josh Turner’s songs.”

During the musical break of “Your Man,” Josh Turner came out on stage to sing the bridge and surprise Baldridge. It was a memorable moment on the hallowed stage and Baldridge, along with the Opry audience, were all taken back.  Surprised and humbled, Baldridge was so overwhelmed by Turner he had difficulty singing alongside his idol.  After the end of the song, both singers received a standing ovation form the Opry audience.

View the surprise on the Grand Ole Opry’s YouTube channel here.

  • JON PARDI IS READY TO RELEASE HIS NEW ALBUM, CALIFORNIA SUNRISE.

Jon Pardi releases his new album, California Sunrise, Friday (June 17th), which features his Top 10 gold-certified single, “Head Over Boots.” The collection of 12 songs was co-produced by Jon and Bart Butler, who was also at the helm of Up All Night, Pardi’s 2014 debut album.

Jon says he feels like he picked the right songs for the project, half of which he wrote and half of which some of Nashville’s top tunesmith contributed. “California Sunrise is definitely where we meet in the middle where it’s going to show me a more mature, experienced artist instead of the young guy that’s just like gunning for it, you know. So, it’s a little bit more thought out, this record, and there’s a lot more outside cuts that Nashville songwriters stepped in,” says Jon. “A lot of people that have heard the record, they don’t know what song I didn’t write and I think as an artist that’s what you want. You want somebody to be like ‘you write all those songs because it sounds like you wrote them all.’ I say, ‘No, we just really went to work and we picked the right songs.’”

In the studio, Pardi and Butler captured a palpable live energy on California Sunrise by recording each song with a full band.
