The performance includes first-time onstage collaborations with songwriters Rodney Clawson, Tom Douglas, Josh Kear, Luke Laird and Abe Stoklasa.

“Our Front and Center taping with the CMA’s was such a fun chance for us to honor the songwriters and songs that usually don’t get the recognition they deserve,” said Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott. “It was a great night with some of our favorite songwriters who were kind enough to jump up to share the stage with us. We’re thrilled to be the first country artists to be part of Front and Center and hope it helps give all music fans a glimpse into what makes the Nashville community so special.”

  • CANAAN SMITH SHOOTS STRAIGHT ON WHAT HE WANTS IN HIS LATEST SINGLE. (AUDIO)

Canaan Smith is a guy’s guy, but one who crafts beautiful songs about life, loss and love. When it’s his latest single, “Love You Like That,” the message is also literal and straight-forward, which women find very sexy.

“I just love how the song is about loving your woman long and strong,” says Canaan. “It’s kind of a tough guy’s perspective on how he’s gonna love his woman and treat her.”

Canaan is currently putting the finishing touches on his album, due out next year.

  • SAM HUNT CAREFULLY CHOSE SONGS FOR DEBUT ALBUM, MONTEVALLO. (AUDIO)

Sam Hunt released his debut album, Montevallo, this week, and he chose the songs on it very carefully as it related to his life, and how they were slightly different from each other.

“These 10 songs were the songs that I absolutely HAD to put on the record. I didn’t want to overwhelm people with a ton of songs. I wanted them to really digest these songs,” says Sam. “You only get one first album, and these are the songs I feel like best represented the era of writing my first album. Every song is a little bit different. The other songs that I have would have been a slight version of something that’s already on the record, so I wanted to keep it unique in that way.”

The first single from Montevallo, “Leave the Night On,” is poised to top the country charts next week.

Sam Hunt (song choices) OC: …in that way. :52
“I had about 14 or 15 songs ready when I went to make the record. I couldn’t decide, after the first 10, I couldn’t decide what to pick. So, at the end of the day, these 10 songs were the songs that I absolutely HAD to put on the record. I didn’t want to overwhelm people with a ton of songs. I wanted them to really digest these songs especially. So, I just stuck with 10. I don’t know what plans will be in the future as far as putting out new music, but hopefully I’ll be able to put out music sooner than later, because I want to continue to write and I do have songs that folks haven’t heard. You only get one first album, and these are the songs I feel like best represented the era of writing my first album. Every song is a little bit different. The other songs that I have would have been a slight version of something that’s already on the record, so I wanted to keep it unique in that way.”

  • LADY ANTEBELLUM CELEBRATE THE CHART-TOPPING SUCCESS OF BARTENDER. (AUDIO)

Lady Antebellum threw a costume party at a new Nashville hotspot, City Winery, to celebrate the recent No. 1 success of their single “Bartender” in Nashville on Wednesday (October 29th). After speaking with the media, the trio donned some alcohol-inspired costumes and performed their chart-topping hit, along with co-writer Rodney Clawson.

“We thought with the No. 1 party being so close to Halloween, we might as well keep it loose and fun,” says Lady A’s Hillary Scott. “We’ve been known to dress up when we’ve had shows on Halloween anyway. Charles was Ronnie Dunn, Dave was Kix Brooks (Brooks & Dunn) and I was Reba one year, so we love to have fun with that.”

Adds Dave Haywood, ““It’s close to Halloween, and it’s a bar themed day, so we thought a couple alcohol-inspired costumes for this year for us.”

Lady A has stormed the country charts with their latest single, “Freestyle.,” and just released the video for the tune on Wednesday.

You can catch Lady Antebellum performing during next week’s CMA Awards, where they’re up for Vocal Group of the Year and Music Video of the Year for “Bartender.”

“This one for sure we were so excited about it, it was the first time we’d ever written with Rodney our co-writer and it was, I don’t know I think after you know taking a little bit of a break coming back with playing a tour, going out on tour writing on that tour and then having the first single just do so well it was just a big pat on the back I think and encouragement that we were headed in the right direction for the rest of the record. So, this one is very sweet for sure.”
