  • DAVID NAIL’S NEW SINGLE HITS CLOSE TO HOME. (AUDIO)

David Nail may not have written his new single, “Whatever She’s Got,” but it totally describes what he feels for his wife, Catherine. “When I think it’s the right person, they just have a way of looking at you. There’s times when she drives me crazy and I want to get mad at her so bad. We both say things that we shouldn’t say to each other, and it’s kind of silly ‘cause you know the next day it’s all going to be fine,” says David. “I’ve always said you know it’s the right person when they can see you at your worst, and they still love you the next day.”

“Whatever She’s Got” is the first single from David’s forthcoming album, due early next year.

We both say things that we shouldn’t say to each other, and it’s kind of silly ‘cause you know the next day it’s all going to be fine, and you kinda probably should just stop in the middle of your fight and be like why are we wasting our time. We know tomorrow, we’re gonna wake up and say, ‘Let’s just forget it.’ I’ve always said you know it’s the right person when they can see you at your worst, and they still love you the next day.”

  • LAUREN ALAINA ENJOYS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! (AUDIO)

While most high school seniors are getting ready for prom and graduation, Lauren Alaina was hitting the road performing for thousands of fans each night, followed by an intense study session. The energetic 18-year-old recently graduated from Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School, and she says it tops the list of all of her accomplishments so far, even when she’d get frustrated at being the only one on the road who had homework after the show.

“When you work so hard to make some things happen…right ‘til the last day, I was worried that I wasn’t going to get everything finished and turned in. And I did, and it was like, ‘[heavy sigh] I did it!,’” says Lauren. “It’s not easy when you’re 16, 17, 18 years old, and you’re on the road touring with Jason Aldean, Sugarland and Luke Bryan. And then when everyone else would finish up the shows and do whatever they wanted to do, I was on the bus doing school work. That’s not fun. When it was that final day and I walked across that stage, it was the best feeling in the world.”

Lauren has hit the country charts with “Barefoot and Buckwild,” the first single from her forthcoming album.

“I have accomplished so much in the past two years that have meant so much to me, but graduating, it’s at the top of the list! It was an accomplishment that I wasn’t sure I was going to make, and when you work so hard to make some things happen…right ‘til the last day, I was worried that I wasn’t going to get everything finished and turned in. And I did, and it was like, ‘[heavy sigh] I did it!’ ‘Cause there were days where I was like, ‘I’ll just get my GED. It’s fine.’ I’d get so frustrated. It’s not easy when you’re 16, 17, 18 years old, and you’re on the road touring with Jason Aldean, Sugarland and Luke Bryan. • DRAKE WHITE AND KIP MOORE ‘DRESS UP’ TO WATCH TOBY KEITH! (AUDIO)

Drake White hit the road on Toby Keith’s Hammer Down Tour recently, and the newcomer has become fast friends with Kip Moore, who’s also on the bill. The two artists and their bands and crew hang out backstage playing cornhole and other assorted games, and they sometimes gather around for an impromptu jam. Drake and Kip are also major students of their craft, soaking up and learning all they can from Toby. After their sets in Pittsburgh, the two went out in the crowd to catch Toby’s show…with the help of a disguise.

“Kip’s like, ‘Man! I really wanna go out and check out what [Toby] does.’ And Manny, his bass player, said, ‘Man, I’m not going out there with you, unless you take your red hat off, take your sleeveless shirt off and put some sleeves on.’ Kip was like, ‘Alright man, I’ll do it.’ And Manny was like, ‘Watch – he’ll come out with like a backwards green hat on’ and this and that. I was like, ‘That’d still be fun. We might get attacked a little bit, but it’ll be fun,’” says Drake. “He comes out with a straight up Twisted Sister look – a long blonde wig, borrowed a headband from my drummer, and wore the headband, wore the shades. I put a different hat on, and we walked around the side and just got up on the grass. If you come around from the back, [you] can just kinda slide in. As a matter of fact, a couple of places that we slide in, people are like, ‘Y’all can’t stand there. Y’all can’t stand there. We’ve been sitting here all day.’ We’re like, ‘Cool.’ So, we move, and after about two or three of those, we found us a spot.”’

Drake, who’s making his way up the country charts with “The Simple Life,” returns to the Hammer Down Tour Friday (June 21st) in Holmdel, New Jersey.
