At a party to celebrate the upcoming release of his album, Montevallo, in Nashville Tuesday night (September 16th), Sam Hunt was presented with a gold plaque signifying 500-thousand digital downloads sold for his debut hit, “Leave the Night On.” The song is poised to enter the Top 10 on the country charts, and Sam is overwhelmed with how his music is connecting with people.
“It’s a song I’m excited about that represents what’s to come with the album in a lot of ways,” says Sam. “It’s a good sign because people are reacting to ‘Leave the Night On’ and giving us such a great response that it really excites me about the music to come, because I know taste-wise if they’re enjoying this song that they’re going to enjoy hopefully the record and the songs that come behind it.”
Make sure to tune in to NBC next Wednesday (September 24th), when Sam makes his national television debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Sam will be performing the gold-certified “Leave The Night On.”
Montevallo is due in stores and online October 27th.

“I’m kind of unaware of the fact that people know me or my music or anything about what’s going on, because I sort of feel like I’ve kind of been under a rock for the last several months working so hard on this music and this album. But fortunately, people are sharing the music and the word on what they think about what I’m doing in the music. It’s really cool to get out here at some of the shows and see folks out in the crowd that aren’t my friends or family singing some of the songs back. ‘Leave the Night On’ right now is the song that’s sort of at the front of the boat for the whole project. It’s a song I’m excited about that represents what’s to come with the album in a lot of ways. It’s a good sign because people are reacting to ‘Leave the Night On’ and giving us such a great response that it really excites me about the music to come, because I know taste-wise if they’re enjoying this song that they’re going to enjoy hopefully the record and the songs that come behind it.”
